  1. This debate has happened because alot of Bolton fans think he has become overweight and unfit. Have they not seen Nolan play?
  2. If Nolan is as agile as Mr Blobby then i will give a fuck. We'll have to wait and see.
  3. So you don't think any of those stats sound right? Are Colo and Beye 14st heffers aswell?
  4. But it's not a good thing for an athlete to have too much muscle. I think if you're 26, 14 stone, and 6 foot then you either have too much muscle or too much fat. Not true. Most athletes have high BMI's. http://www.dietandfitnesstoday.com/bmiathletes.php Compared to other footballers though. Colo is the same height and 12st 3, Beye is the same height and 12st 4, Enrique is the same height and is 12st, Taylor 6'2 and 12st. 14st just seems a bit high to me. We'll soon see if it's an issue though. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/profile?id=12265&&cc=5739 http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/profile?id=21970&cc=5739 http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/profile?id=68594&cc=5739 http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/profile?id=17812&cc=5739
  5. Ofcourse there is exceptions. Guys like Phelps and especially Lewis are freaks. Tyson was 5'10 and 220lbs, he wasn't unathletic. Nolan is a normal bloke though, he isn't born with huge shoulders like these guys, and if he is 14st i would find it a little odd.

Most athletes have high BMI's. What sports are we talking about here? I would expect Rugby players to have high BMI's, they're supposed to be heavy. But footballers, tennis players, boxers etc should be normal.

  8. That's not true at all. If you're 6 ft and 14 stone you're overweight according to the body mass index. It's 196 pounds, in boxing terms that's 4 pounds under being a heavyweight. It's BIG.
  9. No, that's not overweight.... if you're 45.
  10. Why do the PFA have to pretend they're relevant? Nobody cares what their opinion is.
  11. Disagree ManCity will be a top 6 side next season, top 4 the season after, we wont! Easy decision Not necessarily. Signings like De Jong, Bellamy, and Bridge won't get them up to that level, and neither will a manager like Hughes. We'll have to see what happens with them in the summer.
  12. I hope he plays well(just to prove me right about him) but i hope Man City crash and burn and that he doesn't get the trophy he's looking for.
  13. This is what i was thinking. City can now go right up to the deadline if they want, leaving us up shit creek.
  14. It's true. We're facing our biggest challenge in something like 20 years, i just can't understand any self-respecting sportsman who would just give up half way through it. I suppose he's meant to be doubling his wages though.
  15. It'll save us any loyalty bonus, which I'd imagine is pretty substantial for a player like Given. Surely the statement saying he wanted to leave would do that. It'll be a contractual thing. Until he puts in a written transfer request, he'll be entitled to any loyalty bonus. So how come we had to pay Bartons when he hadn't handed in a request? Eh? He was entitled to it, and we agreed to pay it instead of his club. Yes, but why didn't Man City pay it?

  18. What difference does a transfer request make? We're still in the same position as before, just because he's done this it doesn't mean we HAVE to sell him.
  19. You would put what Shay Given wants ahead of the club? The guy has a well paid CONTRACT, us keeping him isn't cruel in any way.
  20. Because he's been gash for the last 2 and a half seasons.
  21. Wow, Nolan is suddenly a good player.
  22. Needing money is everything at the moment as it appears we need to sell before buying. We have other players to cover his position while other areas of the team are thin or not covered at all. I'm not over happy about it myself, i just think its a sensible thing to do at the moment. So we sell Given and get an Ebondo, what's the point? I agree we need to sell, but only if we get a substantial amount. Man city hold all the cards we need to sell they know we have cover he is unhappy They know we need to sell, no one else is coming in for him. So what average player would you buy with the £5m?
