  1. Aye. Fans were superb. Showed West Ham how support should be. Friendly, accommodating and respected the minute for Jon Alder and Liam Sweeney perfectly. Can't tar all West Ham fans with the same brush but they were let down badly by some of their own.
  2. Sunderland came to mind yesterday when i heard them talking about the ebola virus on the radio. They said it's unlikely to reach Europe.
  3. Quite moved by the help from SAFC fans. Well done to all who have contributed/offered condolence. We each want our clubs to do better than the other, but this has shown that we are all just people and football fans at the end of the day. I suppose it's a bit like Christmas day in the trenches but the war doesn't have to be as bloody in future.

  5. If he feels he has no future at NUFC ,surely he should try to stay in shape in order to attract a club that actually does want him.
  6. Can't believe we'll never see the iconic figure that is John the undertaker at another game. Will so miss spotting him on away trips. Must have been one of the worlds greatest fans. Sad that for all his devotion the club couldn't give him any real success. Take note Mr Ashley. This is what the club means to some, although i realize now isn't the time to talk club politics. Sounds like Liam was just as keen. Tragic. Must admit when i heard of the plane crash i was appalled, but i was distanced from it as it seemed another news story from a far away land. You would never guess that there would turn out to be a connection with our football club and people who many of us knew of would be victims. Desperately sad.
  7. Seen him at the Corbridge music festival last night.
  8. St Mirren playing at Blyth Spartans and Whitley Bay in friendlies, so run outs close to home for him coming up. July 26th (Blyth), July 28th (Whitley Bay).
  9. Haven't been through the whole thread so not sure which have been included so far but here are a few in here. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/picturegalleries/10827377/Premier-League-and-European-new-kits-2014-15-in-pictures.html?frame=2910745 Quite like the Lazio one. St Mirrens' looks like an ice hockey refs shirt.

Was looking forward to seeing the game but nufc.com got the game times the wrong way round. Turned it on expecting England to be in the second semi when in fact they'd played 1st. Holland in the final on Wednesday.
  11. Megabus was £18 return when i last checked. Comes back at 10:30pm so can have a few pints before the journey home then sleep it off on the bus. Not good if you're at work Monday morning i suppose but it's an option.
  12. I've thought about a scenario where they reach their desired goal difference, say 7-0 then someone like Williamson scores a consolation and their title disappears.
  13. I can understand anyone cancelling their ticket and thought about it myself. The points thing is a major factor. It's a season ticket holder benefit and we can't have it both ways, although being a member only may get round it. Personally can't bring myself to cancel, yet. They're saying they see the need to improve the squad. I've started paying for next season so suppose I'll have to see what happens and rethink my position next feb. I know I shouldn't believe a word they tell us but I'm probably just living in hope.
  14. Anybody who went yesterday know what that incident in the East Stand was about? Bit of a scuffle then some idiot seemed to rain repeated heavy blows on some by now defenseless victim. Really was some nuggets there yesterday. 50 yr olds in their wannabe hooligan gear trying to get on the pitch etc. Pleased Gateshead won and good luck in the play offs. Showing my age again but doesn't seem like 2 mins ago since Newcastle were playing Cambridge year in, year out. In reality it was about 30 yrs ago like.
  15. KK made us proud of this club. Something that can't be said now. It's almost embarrassing wearing anything NUFC related these days. If someone saves us from this lot in charge i'd love him to be given a background role.
  16. Want Gateshead to make the play offs but kind of want it to go to last day v Cambridge. Might go if it's all to play for, but not so sure i'll be as keen if their place is guaranteed by then.
  17. Better of 3 evils IMO. Fans are no worse than Chelsea/Man City.
  18. I've noticed a Sunderland/Feyenoord flag behind one of the SOS goals too.
  19. I feel for you. The Megabus is horrific! Probably not so bad going when you've got the rest of the trip to look forward to. It's the coming back that's a struggle. I think it's decent for Maybe Leeds/Manchester, for the same price as i'd pay for a taxi into the town, £7 or so.
  20. No offence but I absolutely hate this attitude, it is basically my lass and life in general "I should be looking forward to x but I may get cancer and die so I will just whinge about that". f***ing revel in it man! Them going down is pretty much happening, worry about the negatives when the time comes! I thought i'd said i'll worry about the negatives when the time comes in my last sentence.
  21. Should be able to revel in the SAFC demise, as they undoubtedly would if things were reversed, but our lot won't even let us enjoy that because there's every chance we'll be joining them or even swapping divisions again next summer. Suppose i'll worry about that when it's nearer happening and seek temporary solace if/when SAFC go down.
  22. I'm afraid i'm currently stooping to their level of mentality, where the only pleasure i'm currently getting from football is the downfall of our local rivals in the absence of my club providing any happiness whatsoever.
  23. Looked like the segregation divide had been moved along considerably in accordance with the smaller away following. Their super fans aren't so interested now it's down to the grind of a relegation battle and not a glory trip to Wembo. A bit closer than most expected on the pitch last night but ultimately another pointless game for them. Their other aways should bring a similar points tally then i can see them losing to Everton and Swansea at home at least. That doesnt leave them many games for salvation.
