  1. Why would anyone be happy with a fee that we receive for a player in the current circumstance? Until the club is sold or we have a manager and we are buying players, this is just a huge profit for Mike F****ing Ashley. I would rather we kept him and had a decent defender and I refuse to be happy that the fat bastard has made money on one of our only decent young players.
  2. I'm half expecting to wake up tomorrow morning and read: "Bill Clinton flies to Newcastle, rescues NUFC."
  3. I'm so optimistic that he's going to be our new owner that I'm just going to skip ahead to being upset with how he's running the club and wanting him out. Moat OUT!!!!

  5. I'm confused. Am I supposed to be excited about the prospects of a takeover or laughing at the people who think there's going to be one?
  6. Imagine how low the spirits among the players will get if they have to start with a 10 point reduction. They seem ready to all hang up their boots as it is, and I can't imagine that they'll fight to overcome those odds.
  7. I once wrote that the "Beye wants out" thread was the most depressing on this board, but I was wrong. This is the most depressing thread on this board (and probably will continue to be). We have zero prospects.
  8. I never thought administration was at all possible until I read that article. What a mess.
  9. My grandfather immigrated to Canada from South Shields. I never knew him, but I've always been interested in my roots in England, so when it came time to pick a team, Newcastle United seemed the logical choice. I also cheer for the English national team, though only because Canada never compete in any way against them.
  10. I think we'll finish somewhere near the middle of the pack regardless of whether the club gets sold.
  11. My brother, who's a ManUre supporter, Emailed me the other day and said I wasn't a big enough supporter of NUFC to be seen in public wearing this kit, so now I've gone and ordered the flaming piece of garbage just to show him. I think he may have outsmarted me into giving Mike Ashley some of my hard earned money.
  12. The worst part of this was my utter disappointment after getting very excited when I saw "NUFC Statement" as a link on the official site and then realizing it was not an announcement of the club being sold.
  13. Yeh because he admits himself he is a manager doesn't he. You and some others may be happy with him, chum Looking to say "It's not his fault" THAT may be part of the reason he's still here. So let's see....he deals with the players, and is responsible for who does what on the field and who plays. Thats not the action of a manager - acting or not ? If not, why the hell is he here ? He's no use as a ******* coach. He's the first to admit that he's not a manager and shouldn't be in charge.
  14. Duff is correct with what he's saying, but I don't think the players can really use the off field turmoil as an excuse for their poor performances, regardless of how much effort they put in. The players were all part of the team that got relegated and the bottom line is that they're all still under contract with us and need to put their heads down and win games because that's what they get paid to do. I'm sure that none of their cheques have bounced, in spite of the uncertainty around the club. To be honest, I'm at the point where I'm getting a little tired of waking up every day and reading articles about our players complaining. Their #1 concern should be to win matches, starting with West Brom in a few weeks.
  15. This sums it up for me as well, especially since I won't be getting any games over here. Whenever my friends start talking about the upcoming Premiership season, I just say, "Oh, I heard they're not having a season this year." I'm hoping I'll get more excited once I start getting the highlights in a few weeks. I think relegation hasn't really sunk in for a lot of us yet, and I can't really picture what it's going to be like to support a club that I can't watch. But I'll do it all the same.
  16. Toronto FC vs. River Plate is being played for free as we speak on TFC's official site, for those interested: www.torontofc.ca
  17. I would not want to be stuck in a stadium on an Island with tens of thousands of people with only one road to mainland if something went wrong. If that stadium got built it would be a disaster waiting to happen.
  18. It's called pregnancy weight. I'm assuming she gave birth to that baby.
  19. Agreed. When he came to L.A., they sold a massive amount of season tickets and the Galaxy's away games are always sold out well ahead of time because people want to see Beckham, but he doesn't respect that or the commitment he made to them. I think turning on the fans is a way for him to engineer a way out, tbh.
  20. 100 pages. Time to stop talking about Michael Owen, I think.
  21. Coloccini has been a capable defender in the past. There seem to be a lot of foreign players who have bad first years in the Premiership but then come good. I think he might be one of them, and a year with us in the Championship might just see him come good yet.
  22. This has now officially become the most depressing thread on this board. I would be gutted to see Beye go.
