  1. 68% SIXTY-EIGHT PERCENT??? I'm starting to think we're the only ones not deluded.
  2. Tbf as much as it makes me sick Cabaye left us for CL football and then went crawling back to Pardew for a worse team he's not got long left in his tank and if he never left here he may very well have kept Pardew in his position. The happy clappers will have been more subdued with a few more decent results. Good luck to him, but I have to question why he would be happy working under Pardew again after what he saw here and the gulf in training methods to PSG. Reeks of desperation, he wanted out, Pardew gave him an angle.
  3. Watch a compilation. Scored some hilarious goals last season. Seems pretty strong and good with his head but scored some howlers in that video! It was his YouTube video not his Brazzers one ffs

  5. It wouldn't surprise me if we were responsible for engineering the rumours to call out interested parties, you know we're not gonna buy until we sell.
  6. Still not happy we got rid of Guthrie who looked really good at times in our team. I always thought Guthrie had a decent future ahead of him, thought he'd outlast Gosling at least.

    Arsene Wenger

Maybe the fact that spending was cut and players not being bought is why the priority is switched to the league and CL where the money is at? Much in the same way to us it breeds frustration when glory is sacrificed for money. Although, at least Arsenal are competing for top 9f the table positions and playing European matches against the elite, not sacrificing a chance at glory to scrape a draw at the bottom of the table team to avoid relegation.
  8. It's just another meh appointment in a long list of meh-ness I think is the issue. He could well "do a job." But he's not going to light the league up and it doesn't bode well that he would be our marquee signing expected to score the lions share of the goals this season. After everything that has gone on, to dispel the aura of misery, negativity and hopelessness we really need to pull the stops out for a proven goalscorer.

I wonder if that 25m includes the 10m we're hoping to pull in for Cisse and the reported 17m for Sissoko? Nice!

    England

Don't mind the odd England game, but only usually watch competitive games. England friendlies are the dullest s*** you'll see other than us. Bit gutted I was working and only caught the last 15 minutes of this though, looked like a decent match.
  11. Allegedly we've asked if we can take Carroll on loan for the season, which was promptly laughed at.

    Steve McClaren

McClaren isn't a great manager by any stretch of the imagination, but to put him in the same bracket as Pardew is offensive. Much better manager and infinitely better at being a human being! Pardew can go fuck his own face.

Well if they bring in more than the absolute minimum, and they sign players of quality that we actually need, then it will be a very good sign. They won't btw. Then all this will be meaningless, which is definitely still a possibility. But I feel it's going to be good. Don't ask me why. Maybe I am just sick of the Eeyore graphic, and I'm looking for a reason to update it. Everything is broke forever, someone said that once.

Page 11 This one in particular is incredibly unfortunate. Shit a brick, that's fucking disgusting!

If you could just leave St James' now please John.... That'd be great!

I'm pretty sure trading standards laws would see that as misinforming and misleading, pretty sure unless that was the real price at some point it's blatantly illegal.

Name after name, blow after blow. Hummm.... Michael Laudrup actually said that he wasn't interested in another mid-table club. The article is quite carefully worded. The other candidates, were 'interested in talking' or 'amenable'. It doesn't go so far as to say they actually wanted the job. My own impression is that there were a number of candidates prepared to listen to an offer, but wanting to wait a while to see if something better came along. We could easily have been strung along for weeks, and ended up with no-one. McClaren seems to have been the one who actually said yes. He's the bird in hand. You would eat Mike Ashley's s*** if he asked wouldn't you? Whilst tenderly tickling his balls I would think.

This. Pardew divided opinion for too long, I get a horrible feeling it's going to happen again. My gut feeling with Pardew was a no mark chancer and failure, but I was willing to back him and give him a chance. I'm going with my gut feeling that this is an uninspired appointment reinforcing mediocrity and will end in tears. Wasted opportunity, nothing will change under Ashley and I'm not accepting it or coming to terms with it.

We all know we'll do the bare minimum with players to ensure we just have enough to stave off relegation. The problem is with the right manager we can still outperform that, with the wrong one you're still in danger of relegation with £100m+ on the pitch. I can deal with prudent player purchasing if we have the right man in charge. If you cut off the quality at both ends you don't leave much room for error in the middle. This won't go well, nailed on.

Another 4 years of abject mediocrity to look forward to, fat man has to go to inspire change, absolutely obvious to all and sundry now.
  23. At least Vieira, although an unknown quantity at least represented an attempt at something new. That's what grinds the most, we go for the usual, unexciting, cheap, never-has-been option. I'm not inspired one iota by McClaren, it just feels like another kick in the gut and most likely another 4 years wasted. I gave Pardew a chance when he came in to see if he could prove himself, I don't think I've got it in me to do it again. If it really is McClaren they can all get to fuck. They look like a bunch of desperate tools begging for a cheating girlfriend to take them back, embarrassing.
  24. If it's McClaren I think we can almost all agree Ashley and his cronies can all go get totally and utterly, unaquivically fucked.
  25. Why the morbid fascination with McClaren? A worn out never-has-been that has just been sacked from a Championship side that took an horrific nosedive in much the same way Carver did with us? So many alarm bells it's untrue. Given the choice it would be PV 1000% at least there's an element of unknown and a decent chance he could turn out to be a good HC. With Schteeve we know what we're getting, more of the same shit. McClaren would just be another sideways step, not the step forward we desperately need. Fuck that, fuck McClaren, fuck Ashley and Chumley!
