I dunno if he's fit like, a mate of mine watched him on the telly and said he looked alright, I think I was a but bladdered at the time? - John Carver -Coach of the year

Ouch. I have done another unwittingly arseholish post, haven't I? Almost sig worthy that, scornful!

Trollololololol

Even online polls (discounting the mackem factor) are more or less unanimous which means the tide is likely to turn quicker this time and with more gusto.

Thought you were describing Williamson then.

Lose every game, get 10 points deducted for Carver wearing eye bleeding unsightly shell suits, get a double relegation to the first division for being the worst team in history
-
On account of him offering fans out, the correct course of action would have been to meet the fan at training and apologise wholeheartedly for his "passionate" display at the game and take back what he said. So, yes, that is inclusive of "top 10 reasons Carver is a cunt".

I don't think Ashley's even bothered by the TV money par se, more likely that as long as we're self sufficient he couldn't give a toss, Ashley's money train is the free international advertising and his real passion going from strength to strength, even the TV money is chump change in comparison to what NUFC has done for S***** D*****
-
Obvious thing is obvious! Unequivocal proof Ashley only cares about the money, rather than reinvest the £3.5m we got for Pardew and add a little extra from massive NUFC bank balance on getting in a decent manager and kicking on we'd rather save a few pennies and write off a season half way through, AGAIN! Well how about supporters write off remaining balance on their ST and the rest of the games be free to watch as we've basically given up? Even if Carver had the ability to drive the team forward if imagine this will have a huge negative effect on team moral or more pertinently why should the players give a fuck? Good job Fatman and Baldylocks you've fucked it up again, hate this fucking regime man.

I've just watched this and it's so horribly true it's unreal, our club will be nothing more than a shell until Ashley goes and why people still pay pounds notes to go and support this charade is beyond me Although it's horribly accurate and true it boils my piss that they wouldn't have even blinked at this if Pardew was still here. However, regardless of the turn of events it takes to get to this point, we're here and people are finally asking questions. I found the last line pertinent too "you can't put emotions up for sale." Well said.

You see, in the 4 years he was here I thought the core problems were the s*** football that completely drained my interest in the game, a pointless brush with relegation, 4 consecutive defeats to the mackems, and the mistreatment of any player who looked to muster up even the smallest amount of excitement. Pardew was only here for so long because of the underlying problem - Mike Ashley. If any of those things mattered to Ashley (apart from the relegation battle I don't think he does), Pardew would've been gone. IN the end he was basically sold - so there isn't anything to indicate a change in mentality from above. Fact is - the important people running the club consider a midtable finish a success for the club. Pardew managed it most of his time here and they where satisfied with his performance. When we get someone new in, the same definition of success would remain. The new man will have to rise above expectations of his employer to do anything meaningful. If they thought Carver could deliver midtable finishes consistently they would hire him in an instant. Fact is Pardew was a shit manager that kept Ashley advertising his cheap shit on an international stage (barely) whilst also deflecting critisism aimed towards his boss. Of course he was never going to get sacked, if we were in genuine threat of relegation he'd have been gone in an instant. Ashley runs NUFC for his own selfish financial needs, that won't change, what can change is that a fairly decent manager can overcome the financial barrier in front of him and make use of the tools he has at his disposal, not consistently blame that barrier for his own failings whilst flaunting the availability of his best players. A walking contradiction. Yes a lot of the problems still exist but I won't accept the way the club is run as an excuse for things that were always in his power to change, style of play, player positions, taking cups seriously, amongst other things, these were all in Pardews power to change (if he was a half decent manager). As Yorkie alluded to, the state of footballing institutions is a hot topic for debate, NUFC being prime example of how ownership has changed for the worse in the last decade. But I don't watch football for the off field politics, it's not a soap opera (though it seems to be with us sometimes) I watch it for the game being played on the pitch and Pardew wrecked that enjoyment for me. That will change so long as the appointment is right.

Hibernating? You'll end up in an emmaciated coma by the time we hire someone. Ashley is just trying to create more apathy at SJP whilst saving the pennies. That way rather than an uproar, a shite manager appointment will get a slightly tepid shrug of shoulders instead. Uncertainty is the best way of draining passion and fight out of supporters. We're all Sp***s Di***t zombies that turn up and amble through the turnstiles in hoards.

According to the Sun article (my boss bought the paper) Garde gave too many excuses to wait until the summer, back room staff included. That was the only "bad interview" reasons given, not as to his own credentials or demands per se, just that he seemed unwilling to come now.
-
Gutted if true about Garde, Shteev isn't that bad an appointment but seems a kick in the bollocks after the names that have been mentioned. However doesn't seem to reflect the image of the Head Coach described by Penfold.

I don't care that he's doing well for them, good luck to them, enjoy it while it lasts. His time here was well beyond what it should have been, he should have left at least 2 years ago and that's all I need to know. He's had his limelight once, fucked it up and ended up dropping down the leagues. Inexplicably we gave him a second bite of the cherry, it won't be long before he's sinking again and becomes irrelevant. He's irrelevant to Newcastle United now and that's all that matters!

It's possible that the silence has ensued after they've met and the club have asked Garde to keep silent for whatever reason and that's why France has been quiet for a while. I doubt it though tbh, I'm just not hopeful over this appointment. Literally no point in trying to second guess Ashley, f*** knows what's going on, but at least the pendulum has swung away from Carver and there has been no denial or ruling out from either camp about Garde and as long as it stays that way, there is hope. True enough. How's the pendulum swung away from Carver btw? I've just woke up with a hangover. Without reading through it all again, it was along the lines of the club needs to hire a coach soon, whether that be him or someone else. When asked if he was out of the running after today's result he admitted that he probably was as it is a results based business and it's not been good enough. Well, thank f*** I suppose if that's the case. Can't blame the guy for wanting his dream job, can only blame the club for considering someone who's clearly not good enough. Now they just need to make the right decision. Just once it'd be nice if they did something professional like. Press conference tomorrow giving Garde time before the next game etc. ....you're still drunk aren't you?

As much as he was in the wrong for the way he acted in Pardew's defence and has been tainted by proxy of Pardew, coupled with the fact he's simply not good enough; a) you cannot blame him for applying for his dream job and b) you have to respect him for admitting he's out of his depth and having the clubs best interest at heart. I have more respect for him in these 3 weeks than I had in 4 years of Pardew. Having said that I won't be gutted to see him replaced if Garde comes in with his own back room.

They've not ruled out Alan Carr I see
