That's the main issue for me, how Pardew approaches the game, if he bottles it or tries to steifel the game and defend a slender lead then we're gonna come unstuck. A fearless attacking display, which we're more than capable of and we'll see this with ease. I'm only nervous about Pardews mind set.

We can't expect to compete with the likes of the financial powerhouse that is Palace ffs

  4. Not as good as actually signing big kit deals with Adidas or big sponsorshipr deals like we had with Northern Rock/NTL etc. Nha, lets be bamps. Why sign lucrative deals with sponsorships when you can peddle your own tacky trash for free? Just more excuses to make more personal gain and reduce club costs in the interest of SD.
  5. It's getting cold, wet and dark early, isn't it time for his annual vacation "home"?

I can't believe this is still up for debate, obviously it's ultimately Ashley's fault for being so short sighted and giving Pardew an 8 year contract after one season that he perceived as sustainable. However that doesn't excuse Pardews ineptitude and only he can be blamed for a group of internationals not performing to the sum of its parts. A fully fit Newcastle United should be a handful for ANY team in the league, bollocks we can't expect to compete against the top teams, we should have enough in our "locker" to give anyone a game. Sadly we fall short on too many occasions and are seen to be competing in the third tier of the premier league.

    Papiss Cissé

Cisse isn't, or has ever been a class forward, he is however a decent one. We were spoilt with his rich vein of luck, but though he's not as good as he showed then, he sure as hell not as bad as he looks now. Pardew clearly doesn't know what to do with him and how to get him out of this slump, therefor the best option right now is to drop him and give Gouffran his run in that spot. Let him earn his place back in the squad and maybe he'll get the kick up the arse he obviously needs. He'll come good again, I feel it may need a new manager for him to do so though.

What's the alternative? How anyone can look at Pardew's managerial record and suggest he's going to improve is beyond me. I understand what you're saying, but even with an owner with zero ambition you can have a young ambitious manager who can use what he has at his disposal. I don't expect us to be getting the likes of Hiddink or poaching Wenger from Arsenal, however we could hope for someone even marginally better than Pardew. He can't be the best we can hope for under the constraints we have. I'm not saying you can't hope. I'm just saying I've got none. I just don't think Ashley is in the least bit interested beyond keeping us afloat - which this year Pardew will. Not that I'm pointing at you but it just seems some are willing to hope that Pardew can get better but not hope that we could hire an improvement on him. Baffling! Though I don't blame you for feeling ambivalent it's the best we can hope for right now IMHO.
  10. I hope this guys ip has been logged and traced cuz if this isn't true it's a suicide attempt!

First season was lucky, last season was unlucky, both are unsustainable. Pardew isn't the man to make this team a sustainable force, we're going nowhere under him and 45 mins of false dawn football once every other match won't make me think otherwise. Like I said yesterday NUFC deserves better and I don't think we should be settling for less on the back of a few half arsed wins!

Agree for the most part. Mike Ashley is the main problem. Aye, Pardew is a symptom, Ashley is the disease. Canning Pardew for the most part is akin to sticking a plaster on it, it'll work for now but won't make it go away. Cut the cancer out at the root and it'll all get better!
  14. I did vote for FML but it doesn't mean I think we'll get relegated, I think we'll flirt with it and we'll scrape through by the skin of our teeth again, unless something changes. It's going to be a long laborious season with more downs than ups. We'll never boss a game with this charlatan in charge and even our wins will be painful, as we saw yesterday. Could have easily bossed that game but were rattled, scared and disjointed for most of the second half. I can see us getting dry humped over the next few matches and slip down the table.

I'm over the moon that we won, I'll take that! I cant swallow the manner in which it happened though, until such a time as we can consistently perform in a full 90 minutes of football, I never will be happy. I think it was about 5 pages back (can't be arsed digging) someone posted a few pics of us in 2nd place and our average attendances and the stadium as it used to look. It just sparked rage! I know times have changed and football has moved on and like I said I don't expect us to be baying for the title on a yearly basis, however, what has become acceptable and defendable on here and amongst supporters I find unreal. My level of acceptability is clearly not in the same ballpark. So though I am happy with the win and glad to see us moving up the table (temporarily?) today hasn't clouded my judgement or gone any way towards making this current regime acceptable at all. So mock if you wish that "credit where credit is due" or "negative no matter what" but the top and bottom of it is, Newcastle United is better than this, deserves better than this and should be striving for better than this.

It's amazing what shit people will put up with and defend. I don't expect us to be baying for the title every year but I'm not content with the drivel we put on every week. Yeah it was a good first half, but yet again ineptitudes were apparent as we, again, failed to recognise a game of football is contested over 90 minutes. People can be satisfied with mediocre (at best) shitball, but I am not and limping home to a narrow win against relegation fodder doesn't mask that for me.

It's like a marriage of discontent everyone knows its not working but they stay together for "little johnny's" sake. Only little Johnny isn't as stupid as they think and is fully aware of how bad things are. Something needs to happen before this little analogy turns into a murder/suicide case!
  19. Pretty sure the personnel and formation are irelivant as the crippling anti-tactics will dictate the result. Park the bus (but leave the windows open) an try and nick one on the break but without any movement and one player crossing the half way line. Second half we will play much better but won't create anything of any note. Same old, same old and another loss to a team we should be looking to get a result against if we want to stay in this league. No doubt the nay sayers will be pointing out that they beat City.
  20. We only scored two because there was clear daylight, hell there was clear time zones between us. They'd already, mentally gone home. I doubt they've played an easier game and had it won before half time. It was more them than us.
  21. It's fairly obvious now isn't it? 1) premiership survival 2) raid the January bargain bucket for essential players 3) Allow the club to run at break even 4) Plaster the club with free advertising 5) Rake in the benefits of tacky SD revenue increase where he has no one to answer to 6) Rinse and repeat It's depressing and frustrating, there's nothing can be done, he won't sell up with that kind of exposure when his real passion is reaping all those rewards.
  22. Footballs not in my family and I never grew up with it but I sat and watched Euro '96 with mates when I was 18 and immediately said I'm supporting whoever that guy plays for, I was a Blackburn supporter for about two weeks! Once Shearer moved there was no turning back, I've been passionately hooked ever since!

We won 6 games and x team won 4 therefor we're better. We lost 14 games and x team lost 5 now who's better? I believe what I see on a pitch, not what some carefully selected information tells me, no matter how much it's spun.
