I can't see how the so called people in charge, even if they wanted Rafa to stay (which is bollocks), haven't got a contingency plan. Which other multi million pound business would go into discussions with the most important man in the company over their soon to be over contract, and not for even one second consider what will happen if he (which always looked a possibility) turned it down? Or in this case, they pulled the plug on discussions. The more you think about it the worse it gets. These are the people running our club. Absolute rank amateurs at best. All this Ashley is an evil genius with fake takeovers stuff, in my opinion is not the case. He is just a fat greedy scumbag. It doesn’t look like he’s fussed either way about selling the club. So he’s in a no lose situation as he sees it. Drag the takeover on trying to squeeze more money or changing the instalments is the most popular theory. In doing this the vindictive weasel then, probably out of spite because of the nasty things some fans say about poor little Mikey, seriously hinders the clubs transfer activity regardless of who the owners are. Also Rafa leaves.... enough said. Or, as most probable, he ends up messing prospective buyers about so much they withdraw from negotiations. More than likely not long before the transfer window shuts. Leaving us with no manager and no new players. Ashley (or rather his cronies on Sky etc) then trawls out the usual “time wasters cost us” line that sadly, it seems a lot of our fans (customers) will buy.

If we go up (hopefully), this terrible run of form at the end of the season might be the best thing to have happened. Seeing how bad we've been might actually convince Ashley more that we need serious rebuilding work done in the summer, more than Rafa just trying to explain it to him after a comfortable promotion. For years now I've thought all we really needed was a good attack minded manager who would get the best out of the players we have. But now I realize that we've all been taken in by sky's hype. I've now come to the conclusion that a lot will already know..... the England players just aren't that good. The fact of the matter is without the foreign players in a lot of cases making the English ones look better than they actually are the Premier league would be one of the worst around.

Would like to take a gamble on Will Huges to replace him in the squad.

Should impose a 1 year loan ban on new signings, that might stop younger players signing for the Man City's or Chelsea's if they know they'll have to sit it out in the reserves for a year.

The thing to worry about is, are they even looking for a replacement? Knowing these lot, probably not.

The thing is to be manager you have to have the respect of the players really. You can try and use fear I suppose but in this day and age of player power that's getting more and more pointless. That's where McClaren really shows himself up in my opinion, he just doesn't have the respect or inspire anyone let alone the players. How many of the foreign players will really know much about him apart from he was the man who couldn't get England to a major finals with their so called golden generation. Look at sir Bobby or Keegan, I know these types are few and far between but look what at they can do with players by inspiring them. Who out of our squad would run though brick walls for him like players would for the other two.
