  3. Their ability to switch their alleged logic at the drop of a hat is quite remarkable and never fails to amuse “Leeds only got a decent crowd last night because they were playing Sunderland, the biggest team in the league” ”Look at them pathetic Leeds fans celebrating like they won a cup, just because they beat little old Sunderland”
  4. If I got a new gaffer at graft and they paced about the office huffing & puffing with a face like a slapped arse, told everyone else in the industry that we were shit at our jobs, said we were the worst team in the history of the company, they would only implement one new and complicated approach to getting the job done and week after week after week our results were tragic. Then I would definitely want them to get paid millions of billions when they inevitably got sacked.
  5. What do you think of Membership ? SHIT ! What do you think of shit ? MEMBERSHIP ! Oh, we hate Membership And we hate Membership We hate Membership And we hate Membership We hate Membership And we hate Membership We are the Membership HATERS !
  6. I've actually given up on trying to go to the final. I'm not willing to pay daft money for a secondary ticket even though I've been offered some. All the associated risks that come with that just aren't worth it. I've put word out to any friends or corporate contacts who might be able to source spares, but that's such a long shot that I can't see anything coming of it Feels canny grim knowing that despite buying tickets for all home league and cup games I'll miss the final. But that's the way they want it to be, it's clear that being a member and going to games actually means fuck all. Have made other plans for the 16th March now. Simply can't be chewed with scrapping around trying to get to Wembley, I've devoted more than enough time scrapping around for member tickets every few weeks. Fuck it.
  7. Our ticketing criteria is like reading War & Peace or a doing a Krypton Factor challenge. Whereas Liverpool: Applicants: Season Ticket Holders and Members who meet the Entry Criteria. Ballot Entry Criteria: Season Ticket Holders and Members who have attended two (2) prior games in this season's Carabao Cup competition (home or away) only. How two clubs can have such totally different approaches is quite something I'm not saying their ballot approach is better, I'm just amazed the two solutions are at completely opposite ends of the scale in terms of complexity
  8. From what I can see that article says that the £72m a year is an annual depreciation charge on the stadium ? I'm not a bean counter, but I can navigate the basics of a balance sheet and depreciation isn't debt repayments Happy to be corrected though Edit: had another quick squizz at their accounts as that's where I got my info from. Unless I'm reading it completely wrong they pay £25m a year for their finance. They owe £850m to various lenders, with an average term of 20ish years and average interest about 3% The finance for the training ground was paid off in early 2023
  9. I’m not sure the stadium debt is where the money goes, they only spend £30m a year on it and their income has rocketed up to £500m. I looked into their stadium debt vs income a weeks ago and posted this in our SJP thread: They pay about £30m a year in repayments for the stadium build. The stadium finance is over several decades and with low interest rates Their revenue just from commercial activity is now £230m a year, a big chunk of which comes from having a state of the art multi-use stadium in London Match day revenue is £115m on top of the commercial activity revenue Cogito ergo sum, the money they make each year from the stadium is shitloads more than what they spend paying off the cost of building the new stadium
  10. Having a spanking new state of the art stadium that’s basically a money printing machine but then seeing yourselves rock bottom of the PL wages to turnover list must sting a bit as a Spurs fan Where’s all the millions of billions of extra bunce going ?
  11. Amorim’s body language is so bad, just paces / crouches on the touchline looking like a man who absolutely hates the state of his life
  12. Eddie Howe’s Spreadsheet Army
  13. People waving their phones around in front of their face isn’t conductive to a decent atmosphere either
  14. I like poking fun at xG by going on massively over the top rants about it and I like to see how people respond to me poking fun at xG I also like to be an irritating twat if I know a subject gets people riled easily. It’s one of my many faults
  15. Do people actually talk about xG outside of the internet ? If I was was having some football chit chat over a foaming pint of Hobgoblins Knob Rot hazy nut brown ale and the person I was chatting with raised xG as an area for discussion I’d drain my beer, pop on my coat, leave the establishment, delete that persons number from my phone and never ever speak to them ever again
  16. Absolutely 100%. The likes of Carragher and Neville commentating on their own teams is a disgrace It was bad enough when we had biased commentators like Tyldesley spaffing on about his beloved Man Utd but it’s now reached whole new levels of depravity Why did it become a thing for these ex players to get the mic for their clubs and what sort of moronic fuckwit actually likes listening to it ?
  17. How else will people know if their acca will pay out ?
  18. It’s just a new boring stat and I enjoy pointing out that it’s just a new boring stat because it’s guaranteed to cause ructions and I find that funny Maybe a striker is lethal, maybe a keeper is shit, maybe all the best chances fell to a centre half rather than a centre forward, the variables that affect chances vs goals can go on and on and on Football’s supposed to be a sport, it’s not supposed to be a maths tournament
  19. Aye, but it’s good crack winding up the stat nonces I have my own metric for number of times I aggressively slag off xG on here compared to the number of people who respond to defend xG like it’s some sacred cow
  20. Actual CCTV footage of me and @El Prontonise versus an xG nonce
  21. For clarity, I understand xG. I just think it’s stat noncery gone daft and there’s no need for Joe Public football fans to be spaffing on about it
