  1. A game that really summed up most of his time here. Bags of endeavour, great graft and lots of smiles but fuck all quality or end product. He's had some great times with us but it's definitely time for him to move on, either now or in the summer.
  2. I'm about as big a Longstaff fan as there is but he's been absolutely fucking dreadful so far.
  3. Aye it'll be their fault that he palmed that shot into the net probably, for daring to allow a shot on target.

Cup's a distraction anyway marra, need to focus on the title push, Le Bris a management genius letting Stoke win

Back shift at Nissan must be starting soon.
  6. Same. He comes across really well in the Undr the Cosh interview he did, is effusive for his praise for the region and the people up here and seems like a likable bloke. He's done a class job at Bromley also, top half in League 2 as it stands, first ever EFL promotion and an FA Trophy. Some going on a fairly ordinary budget.

Do they never learn Remember "setting the transfer window on fire" and "mags green with envy" in 2011? ... ...Craig Gardner, Ji Don Wan, Connor Wickham, Elmo and Wes Brown

    Paul Dummett

Williamson is pulling in some decent players to try and get Carlisle out of the mire like, ones who are better than League 2 level anyway.
  9. I've learned that on 9/10 occasions, Eddie tends to know best in the end. But, there's still a minor narrative of him sticking with and trusting poor players longer than he perhaps should. The fact that Dummett and Ritchie were on for another year each if City had won the cup final, for example. PSR tied or not, both had been way past their sell by dates for years. Him doing so will definitely help the whole squad ethos that serves us so well, but that little bit extra ruthlessness of getting a better player back in there is for me the 1/10 time when he doesn't get it quite right.
  10. Fuck me, I bet you're a right laugh at parties. You've dragged me into your dullard bath water now, so having Googled "several", various online dictionaries say "more than two but not many" by definition. Three, then. Much closer than fucking seven Dubravka had been incredibly poor throughout his run in the side last year and as someone else said in an earlier post, the rate we conceded goals spiked pretty heavily after he came in for Pope. I can't prove or disprove your theory on why Howe chose to keep him in the side after Pope was fit for selection again. But I know it cost us at Man U where Pope is almost certainly saving the Hojlund pea roller that Dubravka let in to win them the game.
  11. I said "several" not "seven" if you re-read my post. He was on the bench for Burnley (a), Brighton (h), Man U (a) and then came back for Brentford (a) on the final day. I mistakenly said Burnley was the game he came back for, think I'm mixing it up with the season before where Burnley away was the season closer.
  12. Moyes will have them about 14-15th this season and maybe 11-14th next season. He'll not set the world on fire but he's a safe enough pair of hands.

    Will Osula

Sunday would ideal for him to get off the mark, hopefully he can.
  14. Agree that it's hard to quantify. I don't think it's a co-incidence either fwiw, you're basically weighing up the perceived value of Dubs ability with his feet on our play/form versus the perceived risk of him making a clanger as soon as he's seriously tested. I've never massively rated Dubs and for me the latter outweighs the former, but others may have a different take on it.
  15. He's not playing out of his skin either, he's barely been tested. I agree he's better with the ball at his feet than Pope but I can't shake the risk of Dubs throwing one in soon as we start conceding some meaningful chances, which will happen at some point.
  16. People have short memories. Remember when a returning Pope sat on the bench late last season for several games despite Dubravka looking shit, then away at Man U Dubravka was at fault for two goals that arguably cost us a European place? Then Pope plays at Burnley three days later. I'm glad Dubs has been steady and not made any errors but Pope is the superior keeper by a mile and should come back in soon as he's fit.
  17. Totally understand the logic of keeping him til the summer especially if there's no fee involved but a new contract is a genuinely mental decision. He was absolutely trash last season, cost us numerous points and suddenly because he's managed to not throw in about 6-7 routine shots on target against him in a run when we've defended superbly and he's done a couple of decent passes people think he should be first choice, sell Pope, new contract it's insanity.
  18. Must be a red and white striped thing. Some big factories in Sheffield so presumably they're all on t'backshift.
  19. Dyche would have 0-0'd them to safety, just, I think. Moyes will do it slightly more comfortably if he gets it.
  20. All depends on when Pope is due back and how long we can keep Al Shabab in a holding pattern before they move onto other targets, I suppose. Odysseas will be fine for Sunday, an international with Champions League experience should be trusted to play versus a League 2 side at home. It's whether Pope is available for Wolves or Bournemouth. I'm sure I read he's expected to be available for Bournemouth, so the options are gambling on the Greek for one league game or agreeing with Al Shabab that he can move the day after Wolves.

A 5'7 technical centre mid going to the Championship, however talented, is a flip of a coin. It's a shite league but it's full of massive cloggers and he could just get kicked to fuck.
  22. Expecting a mental Spurs game here. Think they'll take the lead but Liverpool to run out 2-4 winners.
  23. Looked very emotional there, if indeed that's his final bow it's a great way to go out for us.
  24. You'd imagine if Pope is due back for Wolves on 15th Jan we can safely roll the Greek out against Bromley on Sunday.
