If Hall is left out tomorrow and effectively carries the can for our utterly shit defensive record (1 clean sheet in 20) I think it's incredibly harsh on him. He was shit in that first half against Bournemouth but it's about the first "bad" game I can remember him having, whereas Thiaw, Botman and the two idiots with the gloves have had numerous stinkers in that run. Even on an off day he's usually a solid 6/10 level performer. Said it a while ago but as good as he's been at times, this obsession with playing him all the time is fast becoming a millstone round Eddie's neck IMO. Understand him playing in games against the established top 5 teams or away in Europe when we won't have much of the ball anyway, but in most other cases he's a huge part of the reason we can't retain the ball for toffee. When you've got him and Tonali in there that's 2/3 of your midfielders who can't use the ball well and it just lumps huge pressure on Bruno to do it all. I'm sure the crowd love watching him launch into opponents and clock up yellow cards but if you lens back from that he's a real limiter to us becoming a better side with the ball.

Really worrying that. We absolutely need two goalkeepers for a start, that doesn't leave many more additions.

Murphy has been garbage and so infuriating this season, however the failing is the utterly shite "upgrade" in Elanga. After the numbers Murphy put up last season it was logical to want to keep him around for this season. If we'd bought someone who was able to contribute properly in the RW position it would have mitigated Murphy's downturn in form and we'd have seen much less of him anyway if the new player was performing regularly.

If we lose this we should write to the league and just ask if we can play a 34-game season next year, fuck off the home games against these and Bournemouth and the trips to the Etihad and Anfield.
