  1. Lascelles looks like he's wearing his boots on the wrong feet.
  2. One of you fucking SHOOT man Pathetic shot shy bunch of tossers
  3. Left side a bag of shit and a yawning chasm between the midfield and defence. Yes, City are much better and we're on a hiding to nothing, but it's the same bloody problems over and over again that we had vs Luton, Blackburn, Bournemouth, Forest, etc etc. The summer is going to be huge. I'm worried he's extended Lascelles (unless he's playing the Dummett role next year and plays like 2-3 cup games) because we need such massive surgery and he seems as though he's sentimental and overly loyal to players who aren't good enough. He needs to fix these glaring issues with the side because clearly opposition scouts are watching us and telling their lads to exploit it week after week. We're easy to play against and predictable. He said fewer games, some players back and more training time would improve things and we look as bad or worse most weeks. He pitches learning as one of his key strengths and we've had the exact same issues for about four months now. It's really concerning and I haven't a clue how much mitigation the powers that be will give him for the injuries as we're not improving now we're getting players and time back.
  4. Another one against us from that cunt Hooper. Fucking cunt.
  5. Oh good, another deflection. I think this is the angriest I've been watching us all season. Not because we've been that bad, just because of how nothing the goals have been, how every single little thing has gone against us - two deflections, the yellow on Schar, the fact we've had yet another balls hard away tie in the first place. The fact City have barely done anything at all and are easily two up. It's so so fucking depressing.
  6. That wasn't out either. I hope Hooper goes home to find the neighbour shagging his wife the blind bald wanker.
  7. If that's a yellow card I'm done with football. Fucking cancel the sport man.

    Sean Longstaff

Mid table Championship standard We finished 4th in the Premier League a year ago with him as a mainstay and every time he dropped out of the side we looked shite. Goals in a cup semi-final and one against PSG this season too. But, according to some, he's not good enough if you wanted to push for a playoff spot against Norwich and Coventry. He's in poor form and I want to see him sat down for a while as much as the next person, but some of these takes are mental. I don't mind people saying they'd cash in for FFP purposes, I would too if we got a good offer but I think the most likely outcome is he becomes a helpful squad player who will show his usefulness when he has better, fitter, more confident players around him and he isn't shouldering the entire burden of a shattered side all season long. Mid table Championship standard is the likes of Barlaser who we peddled for about 300 grand after a few cup games, not Longstaff with nearly 150 PL appearances under his belt FFS.
  10. A sad day for Wearyside today as it's announced that Mackem Jeff is stepping down from Look North soon.

I don't necessarily think he needs to move away, he just needs to be used as a squad player. He can be effective and it's great keeping a local core, he just shouldn't be starting every match. This season's injuries and Tonali have dictated that he plays much more, next season he'll player a lesser role (touch wood) and I bet he looks all the better for it when he does feature.

    7 months that's ridiculous.

He brought Miley on and then off again in the cup whilst Longstaff was made to toil on FFS then he didn't even take a pen! I understand starting him has been a necessity but we've had Miley, Anderson and White on the bench of late who could have given him a break later on in games. Christ even Ritchie could have come on for him in the final 10-15 mins of games like Arsenal where we're already way out of it. He could have started Miley tonight as well. He's got options back but I've no confidence that when Anderson is ready to play 60+ that he'll sit him down. Willock has replaced Miley and Sean's still left to flounder around in this rut, out of form, tired, getting loads of stick. It's just odd.
  14. Nowt "honest" about that, obviously he's not ripping into the players and is trying to protect them etc (correctly so). Reality is going forwards we scored two wonder goals and barely tested the keeper otherwise all night or created any clear cut chances (Miggy's pot shot the only other half chance I can recall). It's not sustainable at all.

He's been crap but he's also been unnecessarily ran into the ground. It's blatantly obvious he needs taking out of the firing line for a rest and yet he's getting flogged to death for 95 mins (125 at Blackburn) every single week. We've got options now and he just won't give him a break, not even for 10 minutes, it's mental. Hope he gets sat down for Anderson soon, he needs a break desperately. Still think he's got a part to play in the squad, but he needs the right midfield partners and rotated in and out to suit.
  16. Where's the streetwise, dark arts, tough to play against savvy side gone, by the way? We look like a bunch of limp dicks again away from home, playing into the oppositions hands, seem to have forgotten how to do a tactical foul to stop counter attacks and how to slow the tempo down, 30 seconds on a throw in, or feign an injury when we're really under the gun. We look like we've lost our edge.

    Alexander Isak

He's class, but wouldn't blame him if in his quieter moments he sits and wonders if feeding off scraps in this side not really set up to get the best out of him is a long-term wise idea.
  18. The Dubravka one is the biggest as he's shit and like a table footy keeper rooted to the line, can't argue that one much. But... He's had a chance to take Burn out of the firing line for months and chosen not to with Hall and Livra on the bench. Longstaff, OK we had literally only three fit midfielders for a while, but even now with options on the bench he won't ever sub him (6 subs in 120 mins at Blackburn and he still wouldn't take him off). He chose to start Almiron despite Murphy playing really well last weekend. Eddie is choosing to play them week after week.
  19. Pilko

    Jacob Murphy

Would start him instead of Miggy every week tbh. Almiron looks better off the bench against tired legs and Murphy tends to cross balls into the box and actually shoot and stuff which helps.

    Sven Botman

Can only assume he's not at full fitness, because he looked like Stevie Taylor's long lost Dutch cousin tonight and he's been shaky for weeks. That was the pits tonight, really hope it's only upwards from now on.
  21. Sick to death of these away surrenders, we've made a bang average side look like contenders tonight. Once again we've managed to score a couple but come away without a win because we just can't defend for shit. He claimed himself we'd look better for the slimmer schedule and more time on the training pitch and it's absolutely not been the case whatsoever. We're at best a chaotic side, at our worst an absolute shambles. Running Longstaff into the ground 95 mins per week despite us now having other options is a joke, he's bang out of form and looks shattered, even when bringing White on as an admission we've lost the game he still won't hook him. I don't get it. He definitely has enough credit in the bank to write this league campaign off as an unlucky one due to injury regardless of where we actually finish, but he doesn't seem to be learning and that for me is the biggest concern. Burn and Longstaff, never making any proactive subs til we're behind in the game, the best defence in the land turning into one of the worst, the complete disappearing act that our "dark arts, tough to play" has done to the point where we're a soft touch again. Really really hope a good transfer window, injury problems not being as bad and a fresh perspective after the summer break gets us firing again, because right now we just look shot to bits. Not sure how much say he'll have this summer and how much he had last summer but the reluctance to play £60m of young full-back acquisitions even at the injury crisis peak has been weird and if we'd invested the Hall funds elsewhere it would have gone a long way this season. Assuming we get the usual luckless, listless surrender away at City next weekend I can't wait for this season to end. It's been a constant kick in the balls since about October onwards.
