The whole reason we panic bought Wood was because Maxi was our only option up top and we couldn't win a game for toffee with him there. The Cambridge cup game, Maxi started as striker and was absolutely horrendous. Whatever your view of Maxi in general, I'd have thought it was an easy common concencus that the bloke isn't a conventional striking option as long as he's got a hole in his arse.

Agree with the rest of the sentiment but he was absolutely fucking shite for several periods, particularly Bruce's last few games and the early Howe days. The fact he's been content to sit on his arse basically since we got promoted with the occasional burst of football tells you all you need to know - he's nowhere near good enough to be playing for us and he's clung onto the pre-takeover mediocrity gravy train better than he can a ball.

Fingers crossed that's not the same couple of weeks that Isak was out for in September.
