Sort of, yeah. I was definitely of that view earlier in the season, where he clearly put in a lot of effort, grafted, lead the press but didn't get on the end of the scant amount of chances we were creating and generally couldn't finish his dinner when he did. He also didn't seem to link the play as much as he did now, those deft touches on halfway he's doing now where he's setting the midfield into an attack were nowhere early doors in the season. I think it's a mixture of him channeling his effort in a more intelligent fashion, the emergence of Ramsey/Willock further up the pitch in the midfield mix which looked too deep and flat in the early days of the season (credit Howe for fixing the attacking aspect of it - still not perfect, but much much better) and also having some actual competition for the place in the shape of Wissa who whilst looking crap so far should "on paper" have the shirt. Still not totally convinced he's a long term play as a "proper" forward unless we change our shape and style this summer in a fairly big way... but for now he's making it work and I much prefer him there than on the left, where I still find him frustrating and profligate in the main.

I think he's set the bar so low that people are now impressed when he manages to do the absolute bare minimum basics right, such as work hard and not misplace short passes. I didn't think he was especially bad tonight btw, just the key moments when he had time and space to cross it he absolutely hammered it with the power drive club onto the other wing. And given he rarely fashions a shooting chance for himself, good crossing is the output you'd want from him.

What a fucking win in the most adverse circumstances. That's the heavens aligning for the Liverpool one where we deserved to get something from it. Against all the shit from the referee he set us up perfectly second half, we defended brilliantly and Man U never looked like scoring other than a long range blastie. Big call dropping Pope too and his man Ramsdale came up with two quality saves second half to keep us level. As shit as Everton was, that was the complete opposite in nearly every way. Fantastic, well done to him and the players for a fucking mega win.
