    'Can he play up front?'

He's canny isn't he? Would be fairly pleased, he's versatile.
  3. Honestly as bad as fellow useless ginner Matthew Pattison.
  4. anyone else immediately reminded of Big Keith talking about Peak Practice?
  5. Christ, Mills and Pardew It'll be Mark Clemmit next.
  6. Watching the football league goals on ITV on a Sunday morning. None of this analysis, emails and texts bullshit, just Matt Smith doing a few links at a random ground and as much time as possible showing footage. One of the few things ITV ever did right with football.
  7. Yeah was bent as fuck that game. As shit as SM was as our manager he had a few games where he was totally done by the officials.
  8. Sounds like another Savio Nsereko jobbie.
  9. I think it was the Rooney Ronaldo combo one, vastly overrated goal IMO. Love the Gillespie one but winner of that should have been Essien's goal, the bend on the strike and the distance a worthy winner makes.
  10. Goal of the Month set to either Lightning Seeds - Life of Riley or James Dean Bradfield - That's No Way To Tell A Lie

His stint in Corrie is a bit like the mackems Premier League lifestyle - terrible actor, only good to laugh at, somehow clings on every year when you think he'll get written out.
  12. even more baffling as Man U can barely muster two goals in one home game these days. Must be what he decided to do at the Etihad every frigging season - gets to 2-0, let's keep it single figures. Prick.

He could have done with a few of those for Sissoko, Wijnaldum and Coloccini. Might have kept us up.

Toon players who scored on both their first and last competitive appearances for the club?
  16. He'll score 10+ this season if he stays fit.
  17. Definitely think Spurs are one of those teams that will gain momentum as the season goes on and rack up unbeaten runs, so playing them early doors in a televised sell-out where they're away from home is a good time to have them IMO. Quite confident we'll get something, especially after the performance today, but unsure if it'll be a point or three.
  18. Shelvey was running the show to be fair, played some unbelievable balls. Aye he was great early doors. Started to fade in the second half slightly but in the first half he used the ball superbly, even for his standards.
  19. He was his usual industrious, busy self today. Perplexing comment to say the least.
  20. It's one of those irritating situations where he looks shit but the team (especially Perez) generally plays better when he's there.
  21. Arsenal 2-0 Leicester City Watford 1-1 Liverpool Chelsea 3-0 Burnley Crystal Palace 2-1 Huddersfield Town Everton 1-1 Stoke City Southampton 0-0 Swansea City West Bromwich Albion 1-2 AFC Bournemouth Brighton 0-2 Manchester City Newcastle United 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur Manchester United 2-0 West Ham United
  22. Was a good, cohesive and controlled performance overall before the deluge of subs kind of broke it all up. I'm only wishing we'd invited a slightly better team for us to play, as Verona were utterly dump, fell over a lot like pissed Bank Holiday tarts and didn't have a shot on goal of any note that I can recall. Atsu and Lejuene were the two to really stand out, but Perez, Manquillo and Ritchie also worthy of mentions. Nobody really did 'badly' apart from perhaps Mitrovic who was the usual mixed bag. Paully D got forwards and even into the opposition 18-yard box a few times (cue 'nosebleed' comments in the Leazes), that's how bad this mob we were playing were. Didn't look interested in attacking whatsoever.
  23. Sean Longstaff is 18/1 FGS for Blackpool today and Toney is 7/1 for Wigan to do the same. If they start those are canny prices IMO.
