Newcastle United vs Burnley - 01/01/15 @ 3:00PM (not on TV)
Wallsendmag replied to Anderson's topic in Football
Quite excited about today but can't help thinking that a win guarantees Carver the job until the end of the season at least. That would put us on 29 points, 10 from safety with half of the season still left to play and the much coveted North East Top Dogs trophy practically in the bag for a 5th consecutive season. Ashleys thinking will be along the lines of why pay another manager to come in when the season is just about done with and the objective is complete as he trousers the £2m compen from Palace. -

Lack of public transport and the pull of all day drinking in their local will put a good few off. Still should be 47-48k. Atmosphere will be flat as it always is NYD. -
That's the problem. The joy of being rid of Pardew will be short lived when we see his replacement. Let's be honest it's going to be someone of similar ilk.
-
Southampton. Fans who had made a near 700 mile round trip had the nerve to complain about the s*** they'd been watching previous to us getting humped 4-0. The first thing the new manager should be doing is getting rid of Charver and bringing in his own team. Ashley probably won't let him though as it increases costs.
-
Would he be allowed to manage us without the coaching badges? Thought they were tightening up the rules about this.
-
The first thing he'll probably do in his role as caretaker manager will be to give himself a months compassionate leave back to Argentina.
-
Coloccini would be a disaster. He doesn't even make a particularly good captain so I can't see how he'd make a go of it as a manager, even short term. After all we still need another 14 points to guarantee safety. Must admit I was in the anyone but Pardew camp but I've woken up this morning filled with dread when I think who Ashley will replace him with.
-
I take my hat off to those involved in this website. Respect to you all!

We're not that lucky. Good things don't happen to us. Pardews going nowhere and this time next year we'll still be complaining about his negative, boring football and him still having Gouffran down as the first name on the team sheet.

Pretty much this.

What difference does it make if an opinion is on here? No difference. Just an observation. He's hopeless but gets more support on here than anywhere else. The first part is my opinion, the second part is fact.

That's quite a heap of dogshite that. Read through this topic and you'll realise it's actually you who is talking dogshite.

I know it's not the done thing to criticise Anita on here as this is the only place you'll find people who actually rate him but he's dog sh*t in all fairness. The lack of posts about him after today's game speaks volumes.
-
Quite easy when you have that ginger c*** next to him. We only signed the ginger c*** in the summer. Anita has done nothing of note since he signed for us including when he's had the likes of Cabaye alongside him. Just not good enough.
-
Hopeless again today. The game just seems to pass him by.

NUFC 0 - 1 Sunderland - 21/12/14 - reaction to Pardew's derby run from page 43
Wallsendmag replied to LRD's topic in Football
Gouffran. -
He's not given enough time. He's also not in a system that suits him. In Ajax they obviously value possession of the ball and possess CB's comfortable on the ball to distribute it into a CM who drops in to collect the ball- this has never been possible with Williamson playing behind him. For example, in the derby last year all we did was launch it up to Shola, non-stop. This rendered players like Anita and Ben Arfa totally useless. He's a very clever player and technically excellent. I was talking to one of the strength & conditioning coaches at the club last year and he said he thought Anita was the most athletic player in the side. I find that surprising but even more so that that doesn't work in his favor considering Pardew's values in a player. At Ajax he was up against average players every week and playing in team that dominated their matches. He's never going to get the same time and space on the ball over here as he did in Holland and that's something he's struggled with badly. Wouldn't have him anywhere near the starting XI on Sunday.

If Pardew starts with the coward Gouffran then he deserves everything that comes his way. Don't think we'll score again. Can see them getting 2 or 3. Dreading it. -
2.5 games. He's an awful keeper mind. I live near to Whitley Park and often have a walk along to watch the U21s and I've never been impressed with him. He's well short of what's required to be a Premier League goalkeeper. It's nothing to do with age or experience he simply isn't good enough.

We've had one of the little peaks that always comes up every so often under Alan Pardew now it's time for another of the troughs. We'll go out of the Cup tomorrow and then roll over and let the mackems tickle our belly again on Sunday in typical Pardew fashion and he'll be right back under pressure again.
-
Can't stop laughing at this. Not sure why
-
get off at monument and keep away imo. I'm guessing he isn't on the metty. ahh yeah hide your colours act like a c***- mackems will think your one of them. Even hiding your colours doesn't guarantee safety. After the Derby in 2013 (the 1st 3-0) we came out of the Vaults about 3 hours after the game and seen 2 lads not in football colours sprinting down the Bigg Market with 2 other blokes legging it after them. They caught up with them after one of them fell over next to the toilets and his mate (to his credit) stopped to help him. They got kicked all over to the point where the doorman from a couple of pubs came racing over to save them and bouncers don't normally bother unless it's happening in their pub but they must have worried for these lads lives such was the brutality of the attack. We then went along to the Beehive and found out a little later that the 2 unfortunate lads were Sunderland fans who'd had their cover blown whilst drinking in the Rose and Crown. Colours or not this will only end badly. You'll have probably the best part of 100,000 NUFC fans in town that day either going to the match or packed into a pub. The lure of 2,500 mackems being in town without police protection will be music to the ears of a small % of them and when it does end in violence the 2,500 Newcastle fans travelling to the return fixture will be fair game for any acts of revenge. NP need to do a rethink.
