Think the Liverpool thread had like 700 pages as well.
-
The same posters have been complaining about it for years.
-
I mean, Martial ruined Liverpool on his debut as well, and in Isak's debut season Martial had a better goal and assists per 90 than him. So I don't think the performance against Liverpool carries a ton of weight when discussing his potential. £60m was a lot of money for Isak. How good he is now doesn't change that. £64m was also a lot of money for Hojlund. We paid over £20m for Amad. And Yoro for £52m is a lot of money. They're all overpays that are essential a gamble as to whether or not they'll fulfill their potential.
-
They do exist though, they're just not the famous Man United.
-
There is no comparing Isak and Hojlund in any way. Isak is miles better at this moment in time There was just a little chat about overpaying/investing in potential that's all, and I addressed people downplaying Hojlunds potential by comparing him to Isak at the same age, which IMO is a fair comparison. Do I think Hojlund could be as good as or better than Isak? Yes. Do I think he will be? No. Certainly not unless Amorim can change this shit show.

Everyone does mate, it's just whether they're big enough or not to admit it.
-
We're too big for that brute. There's been 60 pages in this thread since August, and only 15 in the other thread. Famous Man United and all that.
-
Surely if there's 234 pages it shows the thread is warranted? Also it means I won't derail other threads getting bogged down in talk about us. Most of the time anyway.
-
I'm only messing with you anyway Erikse, apart from the bit where I said Hojlund has been better up to the same point in their respective careers.
-
Of course we wouldn't, as we can't see into the future. Two years ago when Martial was outplaying Isak, we wouldn't have swapped Igahlo for him. That is, once again, hindsight.
-
Anyway, bowing out of this thread once again, as facts are facts and cannot be argued with. Won't come back in unless I'm quoted once again.
-
He couldn't even get you in the competition for you to find out.
-
And we're the current FA Cup champions, what's your point?
-
Hojlund was 19. Worth noting Dortmund and Milan were/are shit as well.
-
I know. There's a chance we might not even a win trophy this year. I wonder is the Teresa Herrera still up for grabs?
-
Hojlund might well be in the Turkish league by then, and he'll probably still be ahead of Isak with European goals.
-
How are you even coming across Canadian Man United fan accounts with >10,000 followers, never mind actually sharing the posts?

Porto, Bodo/Glimt and Plzen. The season both were in the Champions League, Isak scored 1 in 5. Hojlund scored 5 in 6, including against Bayern. Hojlund was 19, Isak was 23 Gentle reminder, the comparison wasn't mine. It was simply a talk of potential, and Hojlund is getting written off despite having more goals, the same amount of assists, more trophies and more importantly more Premier League player of the month wins than Isak had at this stage of his career. This while is playing in a massively dysfunctional team where he doesn't get any service while Newcastle are having the time of their lives. We can revisit in four years and see if Hojlund has progressed enough to bully Ipswich.
-
A 32 year old Martin Braithwaite scored 10 goals in La Liga last year and he couldn't make it in the Championship in his prime. Not really a league known for it's difficulty is it? Januzaj was good in Spain ffs. Fact remains, Hojlund at 21 has 4x the amount of European goals Isak has. That's in a team most people consider to be massively misfiring, with the one of the main criticisms being how the wingers don't get the ball into the striker. Nobody really talks about Isak's record in Europe for some reason while they're glazing him. But here, he got a hat-trick against Ipswich, give him the Ballon d'Or.
-
Hojlund scored 16 goals last year mate as a 20/21 year old. Hojlund also has 16 in 25 in Europe competition as well. Isak has 4 in 25, which is proper shite. Bet your 6 year old neighbour is rubbish as well.
-
Not with hindsight no. When he had a worse goals and assists record per 90 than Martial it could have been argued. He's coming into his own now tough.
-
He has like. Hojlund is miles better than people give him credit for. I'm saying he has time on his side to get to Isak's level.
-
Still think it's the same.
