  1. I think Philips is quality but If we’re going to shell out a proportion of cash on a midfielder I’d rather us go for an attacking/number 10 as we already have Bruno and Joelinton (and even Shelvey who sits deep). If we sign two then great but can’t see it when you think we’ll be signing strikers and wingers.
  2. Until we have a legitimate goal scoring threat on the RW (and potentially a proper number 10) I don’t think we’ll see the best of ASM. Teams just load of up on him because they know he’s our only real creative option. Willock is an opportunist and will score a few but he’s not going to open teams up and creat a lot. The focus always falls squarely on ASM. That needs to change. He’s also obviously not without his faults, not releasing the ball, losing the ball etc but in general over reliance on him is a problem they have to fix in the summer.
  3. Yeah I bought mine in the Gallowgate by about 10.05
  4. Yes those 3 games then Norwich away is when they need to put it to bed properly. If they get Wilson and Trippier back for the likes of Arsenal and Pool I think we’ll give them both a proper game at home.
  5. I fancy us at home in those 3 straight home matches. Wolves is v tough but atmosphere on that Friday will be mental.
  6. Hed fit in well, mates with Trippier etc too. Falls under the tried and tested too.
  7. I defo definitely think we’ll spent up towards 150m but defo over 100m. A new striker is going to cost a fair chunk of that for starters and we’ll need quality in midfield. I hope we bring in a number 10 type player to play at the head of midfield.
  8. I think Lingard would be a great signing, he’d slot straight it and be a great option opposite ASM on the other side. That said if they’ve identified another younger option who can come in then great. I wouldn’t have any concerns over Lingard though, I’d be chuffed if he joined. Be a great player with experience to join as we look to push on in the next phase.
  9. Its a shocking result that, simply not good enough. It’s not an excuse but they look knackered and a bit out of sorts and need a break. To lose a goal at the end again isn’t good enough though.
  10. I saw him just earlier, good solid stride coming into Waitrose ha. Leicester is 4.5 weeks away, seems realistic.
  11. The great thing about Howe is you know how level headed he’ll be after the loss and have the lads mentally prepared. It’s the old story of not getting too high after wins or too low after a loss.
  12. We should be looking to win it for sure, draw isn’t a bad result at all though
  13. You’d imagine the atmosphere will be red hot initially and they’ll have a proper go at us. If we get control of the game in midfield though the crowd will get nervous. They are very vulnerable to the counter and ASM and Willock would be ideal for this game. They have to win, draw is fine for us
  14. Agreed totally, they HAVE to beat us, so ASM is perfect for counter attacking
  15. Which game were you watching?
  16. Does the bloke think we’re still owned by Ashley ?
  17. There’s some proper rubbish written about him. He’s clearly been carrying a knock of some sort and they’ve been keeping the details close to their chest and right so. Now it seems he’s been under the weather, it happens. As if it’s all cloak and daggers and something else is going on.
  18. Exactly. You just know now with Howe and the players there’ll be complete professionalism whatever happens. We can give Chelsea a game and it’ll be interesting just to see us go up against their quality. The players just won’t be switching off even if privately most will acknowledge we’re probably pretty much safe.
  19. Even when Wilson comes back or when we clearly sign a new starting striker next season he’ll give us another option next season. Wouldn’t be surprised if he goes on and gets 4-5 from here this season

    Bloke is just colossal
  21. Next couple of home games are crucial for Everton. Wolves are a tough side and then they have us which is a colossal fixture. If we can even pick up a couple of draws out of the next 4, or even squeeze out a win we’ll be looking very good going into two games against Wolves and Leicester.
