Assists is hardly meaningless, it’s an extremely useful stat when combined with other stats / context but the best way to assess assists would be to have a visual of each assist they make showing the length of pass / cross, as well as the scoring player’s position and the defensive players positions, along with the trajectory of the finish as well. You could pretty easily mock those up with some AI-assisted CGI and very easily within a few mins look through a player’s entire history of assists to see how critical they were to the goal happening

I imagine we’re not prioritising those players, it’s probably very difficult to tell where a player wants to play as they’re not going to tell potential buyers they don’t want to go to somewhere outside of London if they don’t know a good option is on the table in London. Negotiating is about not showing your hand. It’s only after players get the deals they want that they talk more openly about that stuff
