Not really sure he needs questioned on it, the omission is enough. What’s he going to say if he does get questioned, he’s not going to lay into him, he’d have said something like “Paul worked really hard to support the club in his time here, in line with what he thought was best for the club. We all wish him well”

Lahm was an amazing player but clearly another footballer with fuck all between his ears. Wirtz has looked completely out of his depth so far and unable to cope with the physicality of the league and lack of time on the ball. Maybe he’ll adjust, I doubt he’ll ever be worth close to what they paid though. Of course a 23 year old is a gamble but Woltemade’s profile is so unique it’s almost impossible to imagine him not being a success under Eddie

Don’t think he’s anywhere near as good as Rooney was for England. Bellingham never controls a game, he’s often a passenger for England. His only real quality he’s brought is making late runs into the box and a few clinical moments like you say. Otherwise, he’s not a good dribbler, he’s not got exceptional vision and he’s boring as fuck in a team that needs to unlock defences
