I agree on Saviet. I know Rafa sees him in training every day. So has more of a clue than us fans. But when you look at our midfield options, it does make you wonder whether or not he could offer something? To a lesser extent. It's the same with Thauvin. But in fairness, it didn't seem like he wanted to be here from the start. I just look at our wide men and it's Aarons, who has yet to prove he is any good or that he can stay fit, Ritchie, who looks class and that's it! After that, we have Anita playing out of position, Perez who looks massively out of form and then you're down to the likes of Gouffran, or wasting Armstrong out there. Can't say the same for Riviere. I saw enough of him in the Prem for me to think he is just a bit shit.

I couldn't give a flying fuck about his 'demeanour', if he was performing from time to time. HBA often looked like a sulky fucker and often didn't acknowledge the fans. The same with Ba. The difference is, they played extremely well at times for the club. Shelvey has been a bit shit. So it makes it even easier to dislike him. I actually don't mind him. But you keep reading things about his personality, he doesn't look fit and he has yet to string together 2-3 decent games for us. He's probably only had 2-3 decent'ish games since we signed him.

Does he usually play out wide or through the middle? If he can perform out wide, I hope we get him. If he is more of a forward or a number 10. Then I'm not that arsed. We already seem fairly well stocked with players for that role, as it is. Whereas out wide, we don't have any genuine quality, except for Ritchie.

Rafa has never played two strikers from the start throughout his career, do you think he will be willing to now? Gayle could possibly play wide, similar to Kuyt? I doubt he has the same tenacity and workrate. But I think it's something we will see.

Not seen the game, just seen the goals and heard a brief clip of Rafa. So it's a bit hard to have much of a view on the game. Awful defending for the first. Second looked like a foul on Mbemba, to me. After that, we were just caught on the break and short on numbers, after pushing for the win. Bit worrying that it sounds like yet again, we struggled to create chances and looked a bit suspect at the back? Concerning that Dummett is still playing and Anita is playing on the wing. That experiment needs to be shitcanned. Any reasons given for Ritchie not starting? Glad to see Colback dropped, not that it made much of a difference. I thought we would start off a bit cagey and nervy this season. Just due to Rafa's playing style and because of all the new players brought in, taking time to gel and buy into Benitez' methods. But I didn't think it would be this bad. Still very early days and I am not getting too worried yet. However, I'm not sure playing cautious, methodical football, is going to work in this league. Teams are just going to hit us on the counter and sit deep, like Fulham and Huddersfield have done so far.

I think in general. 3pm kicks offs are much better for the majority and for getting a good crowd in. When we were in the prem, a lot of people would regularly complain about Sky shifting games to awful times, Monday nights, etc. However, I was hoping we got a couple of Sunday games before Christmas. As I'm back playing now, I can't do Saturday games. So bar the next three that are on Sky, I'm going to have to make do with the 30 second highlight reels, SSN and the awful show on channel 5, as a way of following.
