  1. Agreed, never a pen. I like Liverpool and have done since Klopp went there. But glad it was missed. Incredibly harsh to give that.
  2. Good Lord Bayern are good. Felt like they could have scored 5-6 if they wanted to. Barca are horrendous, mind.
  3. Tough one. I remember him scoring a nice brace away at Norwich and also a slick finish at home, where I think HBA played him through. The ones that stick out in my mind is his brace against WBA, when we lost 3-2. Shitty 500 mile round trip on a Wednesday, mind. Need a montage of all his goals at NUFC. Have definitely forgotten some lovely finishes. I'm sure he scored a lovely curler against Spurs at home.
  4. I'm not even a Gayle fan and think he is just a good Championship player. But I think 99% seems a bit extreme! Especially when comparing him to such a poor player. What does Joelinton offer exactly? Occasionally he shows the odd bit of skill and nice touches in tight areas. But he never gets into the box or looks like scoring, he's slow, he's weak for his size, he doesn't seem to have a position and he's very rarely getting in behind or on the end of a cross. He's just such a nothing player and seems like his confidence is shot to bits, or worse, he doesn't give a toss.
  5. There is no way the team could be any worse or any less threatening if you put Gayle in for Joelinton. For a start, it should mean returning to playing with a striker on the pitch and ASM back out wide where he belongs.
  6. Oh for sure. I was mostly just arsing about, TBH. But I’m sure I read somewhere his nickname is Lewy and his wife is Lewa and doesn’t like being called that. He’s awesome, either way.
  7. Robert? Or just that I’m comparing him to one of the best ever.
  8. Can we call him Lewy and not ‘Lewa’, please. Lewa is his wife’s name. I’ll also except King Lewy or The Polish R9.
  9. Kane’s link up play and hold up play is usually really good. Seems to be spending more and more time out the box, from what I can see. He was poor tonight, bar the goal. Lewandowski is pigeon holed as a 9 and just a bit of a poacher, box player. But I’m always impressed with his all round game. Especially as he has never had much pace and isn’t really physically dominant. Fucking love him, mind. So I’m biased. Been my favourite player for a while.
  10. I think overall, we look really solid. Quite well balanced as a team. But fuck we are ponderous on the ball. Seem to always want to run it into an area for no reason, check back and then start again. Or Kane, Sterling, Grealish and co want 4-5 touches and try and do a lot in tight spaces. Never seems like we play the right pass, or early enough or with enough pace. Might be a bit harsh to single him out. As he finished the game quite strongly. But I swear Mount just disappears from games and I don’t particularly like watching him. Anyway, happy with that result. As my Grandad was Polish. So always had a big soft spot for them.
  11. Keeper should be saving that
  12. The bloke plays him in centre midfield. Originally played him as a winger/auxiliary full back. Worked well off the front man or in a more central attacking midfield role. How many times has he actually been in a position like that for us?

    Rafa Benítez

    By simpletons like you, perhaps.
  14. My 365 (well, the missus' account....) is in decent'ish profit. But I only bet on the horses and it gives me bets on those, but not the football.
  15. I never get these?! Same for the FA Cup. Wankers.
  16. Imagine it will be a pretty similar setup to the Ukraine game? Apart from maybe Saka back in for Sancho, if he is fit? I prefer Trippier at right back over Walker. But I don't think Southgate would make that change.
  17. Is this some big whoosh or inside joke that I’m not getting?! What is going on here?!
  18. That was great fun. Some pretty superb finishing and all. Carroll doing that would be fun to watch.
  19. It won‘t be easy to replace him? What?! You could sign my neighbour’s Red Setter in his place. Similar ball control and would offer more up front. I mean, fuck me. You could get the statue of Shearer on as sub instead of Carroll and the output would be the same.

Shelvey's heart is broken. Just in a different way that means he can't run for more than 10 seconds at a time.
  21. All for it. I think the away goals rule is absolute bollocks and I've never liked it or got it.
  22. He really is one footed. Not really much of a complaint, as it seems to apply to a lot of players and it is more noticeable with lefties, I think. I have just noticed a few times, that our already slow passing, slows down even more when Miggy has to have extra touches, or angle himself so he can play a 5-10 yard sideways pass on his left foot. It might be one for another thread. But it always amazes me how top players won't even attempt the most basic stuff with their weaker foot. I do really like him, though. One of our top performers this year and I love his workrate.
  23. Such a great player. He's a proper striker. Chirping at the opposition, teammates and the ref all game. He 'wins' fouls, puts pressure on defenders, he'll run the channels, not afraid to take on a shot or two and has been pretty ruthless for us since signing. He's certainly stronger with his hold up and link up play than I gave him credit for. Seems a bit faster, too. Oh and he is a handsome chap. What's not to like?

    Joe Willock

As Brendan Rodgers once said "what a wonderful human being." Seems level headed, has a bit of an x factor about his game and he is a lot faster than I thought. Our CM's have been really slow or quite similar for years. Great to see someone that is getting goals, has a bit of skill and can carry the ball a long way up the pitch. He's far too good for us, I'd say. Best we can hope for is another loan or somehow getting a takeover sorted and buying him. No idea what he is worth? Young and English must mean he's valued at £20m-£30m?
