What I quite like about the Liverpool reaction over the last few days is that I think most of them genuinely believed they were going to catch us up until the Brighton game. The meltdown has been quite glorious on twitter since last night.

I think if we sign a world class right winger to have more of a threat down that side, a proper defensively minded midfielder who’s good in possession and an offensive left back we should have enough of an upgrade to continue competing at the top level without affecting the current dynamic of the squad. I guess there’s also cb and rb covet needed too. I’m guessing we need to make room in the squad though and even after you remove the Richie type players I wonder if any of the more used squad players will be sold if there’s an offer. I haven’t really been that excited by any of the persistent links but maybe that’ll change now we’ve qualified for the Champions League.

I think I read Chelsea want to make him a first team player next season. It’s mental he isn’t in the England squad.

Maybe I haven’t paid much attention but don’t remember a club getting so much media coverage about an imminent announcement of a sponsor. It’s almost like they’re baiting outrage from the usual suspects.

I wonder how much this messes with Liverpool’s rebuild. I know there was talking of them wanting 2 new first team cms. FSG have been reluctant to invest too much in the past apparently. Salah can’t keep putting together these high stat seasons for much longer.

The gravity of what we achieved has really kicked in today. A squad full of players that nearly got relegated has finished in the Champions League spots ahead of Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea. Consider the wealth those teams have had and how heavily they’ve invested over a squad full of players we couldn’t sell a few windows ago. It’s absolutely mental. What an incredible achievement Howe and the coaching staff have managed.
