What happens if he resigns? Gardening leave but no compo? Think he resigned at Brighton in order to get the job here so we can't fuck around to much.
-
I'm sure there were strong rumours about us wanting Campos before we hired Ashworth too.
-
More upset that there's a chance he could stabilise that circus that is Man Utd more than actually losing him tbh Our owners have been very good at bringing in good staff so have every faith they will put a top person in his seat.
-
Lot of people saying it's £6m compensation. No idea where that figure has come from though as I haven't seen that reported anywhere.
-
Has to be back soon now? Interested to see if he comes back in and starts getting more minutes than Hall.

I think if there's anything giving Ashworth doubts about staying it's the FFP position. No matter how good you are if your hands are tied behind your back it's going to piss you off eventually in a position like his. However he's at the start of a massive massive project and one that he could be instrumental in with things eventually getting built exactly how he wants. Personally think he would be crazy to jump ship now but if he does I'm sure our replacement will be top class. Maybe that Edwards fella who Liverpool wanted? Didn't he turn them down?

"Newcastle fear Ashworth to leave, yet a source close to Ashworth says he's happy to stay" "And in other news the WORLD WILL END but the date is yet to be confirmed."
-
Will never forgot how he acted during our takeover. Was a proper little puppet for the big 6 and dragging things out for as long as possible so he could keep his best pals Levy and co satisfied.. The one good thing Ashley done was throw the legal book at masters and the PL and they couldn't handle it. Man City will have a field day.

I've always really liked a 3-5-2/5-3-2. When defending you can park the bus and have the width to hit the opposition on the break. When you have the ball you can use the flanks or tuck them in and overload the midfield. Obviously need the right players for it but it gives you many options and styles of play very quickly.

That 10 mins injury time was so frustrating. So much time wasting during that and nothing extra added on to what it should have been.
-
Ah shit, fair point Decent deal that for Fulham though.
-
Surprised we didn't go for this especially after the Isak injury scare.
-
Been lacking one since Tonali got banned. Out flat midfield 3 gets bypassed or cut open so easily and then they're in on goal. Huge problem for us this season and our strong interest in Phillips at least shows we're trying to solve it. Just can't see us signing one this window.

Or the Mandy takeover flight manifest?!
-
Remy signing for QPR because he played FIFA with the owner or something the night before
-
He's been posting loads of stuff recently that seems very detailed and specific. Interested to see if any of it comes off.
-
Watch him sign for another club and play every game injury free for the next 5 years.
-
But if found "guilty" then surely that would open the doors to anyone being able to proceed with a criminal case which would be a massive massive problem for us?
-
Need to get a solid player who can comfortably play DM/CM. Loan, free, whatever. Failure to do so with the time remaining in this window would be very very poor.

She had it in her hand and dropped it

What the fuck is that chant

Incredible signing for that price. We should have been in for him.

Howe has had his hands tied behind his back for weeks now regarding our injuries. Chances are he's spotted a way to exploit the opposition in games but he's just had no one to bring off the bench to exploit it apart from defenders and Matt Ritchie. The likes of Willock,Barnes,Tonali, and Murphy have been a huge miss for how he wants to play and the intestity he wants to play at.

Brighton's main success is down to their owner and his secret data model which finds them all the gems. Similar to Brentford. Like Ashworth has said himself he's the big wheel that turns all the other little wheels. Would be a big loss as he oversees everything and ensures it all moves in the same direction. However if he did I'm confident our owners would make another top class appointment.

And that's why its so important to do it. The chance of winning 2 or 3 corners in a row and taking our time with them kills the clock and also forces Chelsea players back into their own half. Haaland did it in our game Vs Man City at their own ground, that shows why it's so important to do it. It's not pretty but when your 1 up in a cup tie away from home in the final minutes it's an absolute necessity. I honestly believe if he had done so we would have won the tie.
