Yeah it's not like he would be a complete failure and like you say tournament football is more suitable as he also has a lot longer to work with the players. It's just that many pundits don't understand why he makes us so good and why we blow teams away. Tactically he's definitely good enough to manage at that level but I think he's more suited to club football. Would be interested to know if he demanded high fitness levels at Bournemouth when they rose through the divisions or if its a fairly recent thing he's added to his management skills.

His fitness levels are why I don't think he'll ever work as well as England manager. There was a lot of people saying he's the perfect candidate last season but I don't think it'll work. If he got the group of players together for a week mid season they'll never be up to the fitness levels that he expects. Pre season is so important as he makes us incredibly prepared,something that he wouldn't get at International management.

I remember when he scored on the opening day I think away to WestHam. I thought ok maybe he's actually a good signing, maybe he'll be a good player for us, maybe I should give him a chance? Phahaha

Ashworth isn't a scout. He's the "cog that turns all the wheels". The scouts find the players and pass them to Ashworth, Eddie and the owners to decide who to sign. The Brighton gems weren't found directly by him but were most likely given the nod to sign by him.

In a way these massive transfer fees could work in our favour, if things don't work out for the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Man utd they'll just have to keep spending, which they will and clubs know they will pay big money, especially Chelsea. Eventually FFP will catch up and hopefully by then we'll have our house well and truly in order with commercial deals etc and then we can be right on their toes.

FFP is utterly rank. So ironic that it was brought in to "protect" the little clubs but all it does is push them further and further away from the big fish. Throwing numerous £100m offers around on players when you've just failed to qualify for the most elite club competition makes a complete mockery of it. Gonna be great when they fail to get top 4 again though, surely that will fuck them badly?
