  1. Have to agree with TCD, too many people think dominating possession = dominating/controlling the match. Taking the example of Swansea away in 2012, we took an early lead, restricted them to long shots and made it safe in the second half. If you lead for almost all a match and prevent the other team from creating chances, surely you have some 'control' over that match?
  2. It's a total charade. This might sound harsh, but people only go to these things to feed their egos. The fans forum does not achieve anything but fool some of the stupider fans into thinking the club cares. It's a shame people go along with it.
  3. Twitter always seems upbeat whenever the club says anything to be fair.
  4. This was tonight wasn't it? Anyone know when the minutes come out? I need to know why we can't have nice things this season and what brand the toilet roll in the gents is.
  5. He probably just needs 2 seats for his fat arse...
  6. No-one has ever rated him from what I can remember. People used to like him as a person until the incident of him slagging Ben Arfa and Keegan in a pub to one of our forum members. I think quite a few people thought he did a good job in 12/13 when Krul was out injured. I'm sure most people on here thought he was a fat pig though
  7. Just remembering that goal he let in at Burnley, what a fat f**k. He winds me up so much. There was a time when the majority of fans seemed to rate him as well.
  8. I always thought we'd get battered by the first top team we played, so it was great to see us do so well against Japan and Germany. Although, it does make me wonder what might have been with a bit more luck in the semi...
  9. No idea why anyone targeting Champions League football would pay good money for him.
  10. His face after Waddle's miss always gets me
  11. Kits and balls are getting worse and worse imo.
  12. At least SJP isn't the only stadium full of sheep, am I right fellas?
  13. Despite his mackem links, he's a top top bloke and actually a decent manager. I just think the PL is a step too far for him, but of all the managers who seem to be on a managerial merry go round, he is the one I'd love to see succeed or at least win a cup. If I were a Championship club, he'd be probably the number one guy I'd employ to gain promotion. I love Mick. Before he retires I'd like to see him have a go in the PL with a half decent side. Wolves were crap and Sunderland were made up of League 2 players.
  14. I get wound up by manager's (I'm looking at you pards) constantly moaning about the Europa League, but it's ridiculous that teams playing tonight have to play 14 games just to make the knockout stage. Bring back the UEFA Cup!
  15. Japan literally had no chances. They had an incorrect penalty and a total fluke goal. Tactical masterclass imo.
  16. This is rubbish. It seemed pretty obvious to me that England were the better side against superior opposition. We lost because of bad luck. Our efforts hit the bar, their deflected cross goes in off the bar.
  17. I always thought that was a bit harsh on Beckham, a lot happened between that and the equaliser. I was more angry that we did literally nowt to trouble the 10 men. Was so deflated after that, we'd have almost certainly won the cup if we beat Brazil.
  18. He's probably (although maybe not) going to score a fair few goals in the PL next season. They'll probably result in his team finishing a few places higher up the table and winning close to the 15m back in prize money in one season. That's football in 2015.
  19. I'm not a huge fan of either player, but I don't get the hate Colback gets compared to the love and understanding Cabella gets. Maybe Colback would be better under a decent manager too...
  20. Aye, such a huge lift to know you have a player who can score out of nowt. We always had a chance of winning when Ba was in the team no matter how bad we played.
  21. Ba is the best since Shearer for me. How many times did he get us a goal and win us points when we played like total sh*t?
  22. Didn't stop the Italians and their conspiracy theories though!
  23. What happened/who cheated in Euro 2004? Sweden and Denmark drew 2-2 in their final game, the only result that could put both of them through while eliminating Italy. IIRC, both teams went for it, maybe I'm too naive but I don't think it was deliberate. Even if it was, Italy can't complain imo. They should have sorted qualification out themselves.
  24. He'll do fine next year. Remember, he was basically carrying Spurs for the majority of the season so he was bound to get worn out sooner or later, it is his first season as a regular starter after all. He wouldn't exactly be the first talented English player not to turn up at a tournament anyway...
