  1. Gutted. Playing WBA now at home isn't going to be as much fun.
  2. Amazing. Just when I was cursing Perez for not having the best of games he manages to finish what might prove to be a very important goal. Credit to Kenedy for his cool head in the box for the set up. A real pitty Slimani will miss the next fixture, but hopefully he will be training to start against Arsenal. He looked good with his limited time on the field. Im hopeful another 3pts will seal our survival. Hope we put the nail in the coffin when Pardew visits. The rest of todays fixtures couldn't have gone much better today.
  3. Still think this game is massive for us. Out of all our remaining fixtures this and WBA should be our biggest focus. I pray we take maximum points in both the fixtures. ??
  4. Its really hard to pin down a favorite. Do you go with Robert type screamers, important goals, or great team goals? Ginola vs Ferencvaros sticks out in memory. But a team goal in more recent times was Perez vs Ipswich. A goal of pure skill and guile would be HBA. One that sticks out for me is Peter Beardsley. Newcastle 3 vs 1 Aston Villa February 95. His second and our 3rd, he looks like hes loosing his footing and its pure luck, Beardsley did this a lot though he had quick feet and skill, then he goes and ouside of the left foots it for a great finish under pressure. Its something Lionel Messi would do today and the world would know.
  5. Waste of what? Am I missing something? Is the "five games" also including Leicester's?! No thats after the Huddersfield game, but as pointed out if hes not ready for Huddersfield, the following game Leicester he cant play anyway. Bringing the total missed games since arriving to 7, and pinning our hopes on him being available for Arsenal.
  6. Hope the cycle repeats when they visit us, they take the lead only for us to cement their relegation.
  7. Quite liked the look of victor fernandez. Seemed to find good positions when not ignored by his seniors looking for their regular mates.
  8. Junior Stanislas 89th minute. Perfect. Looking forward to cuntface on motd with his excuses.
  9. Straight swap Mitro for Sessengnon ??
  10. I think based on managerial shitness its hopefully 18.Stoke 19.Southampton 20.Pardew
  11. Mental to think half this forum wanted to see him gone in January. He's hot and cold but still our best cm
  12. So satisfying to win and see this cunt wondering what hes going to come up with in the post match interviews.
  13. What a waste. Will have missed 5 games since arriving. Leaving 8 to go, and nobody can be certain just when he is likely to make a full debut. If hes not ready for Huddersfield then he cant face Leicester. So if he is ever getting fit his first match is hopeful to be Arsenal.
  14. If Mitrovic had started as many games or came on as a sub as Dwight Gayle or Joselu, would he have scored more, less, or about the same? That's the question. Cant prove anything now, but I think he would have done better than both.
  15. We knew this would happen. Mitro loaned Gayle injured and Slimani probably only ends up playing the last 5 games for us
  16. Great how BBC motd pundits picked him out. Yet the week before vs Man Utd was man of the match or singing his praises. Its poor from shelvey on the bbc highlights shown, but it looked like he left Mo Diame to take responsibility while he peeled off into space to create a counter should it potentially get knocked into his path, probably being the only player who could put the right pass for Atsu or someone to chase while Bournemouth had their whole side in our area. Its a risk and one that didnt help because it was picked up on both goals.
  17. Can he be recalled if we were truly stuck. Slimani out and if Gayle went off with a tight hamstring can you recall players if you cant put out a senior striker?
  18. What was up with Ritchie then? Looked to be having a good game and enjoying facing his old club.
  19. I would have left Gayle on the field while on a hattrick. Could have done wonders for self confidence.
  20. One of the few times I agree with you. People used to go mental when Pardew used to carry out similar approach. Sick of this moot point. Unfortunately although you want to see the positives of getting a point from a 2-0 lead, the subs were a major factor just as much as the misses, although for me the subs slightly effected how we attacked on the counter so thats why Im leaning toward the blame on the result being down to doing a shut up shop and hanging on for our lives job, when we looked quite comfortable. Ritchie was having a great game, kenedy looked a bit tired but he still offers plenty in terms of attack and creativity. I'm not seeing the positives from the result today, complete straw man. It's the "if Pardew did that" line. Boils my f***ing p*ss. Is that not something that did happen some seasons ago though? And it wasn't an if. It was he used to do it, and we all f***ing got annoyed. It's swings and roundabouts. Either we get a third and then hopefully kill the game or we make poor/negative subs and hang on inviting piles of pressure onto us and walking away with a draw or nearer the end it could have been a loss. Pardew had far better players at his disposal during his tenure, hence why people would get annoyed. This team has to play this way, Rafa's said so himself. This way would've got 3 points had Shelvey or Perez taken either of their chances. Perez ricocheted from a free kick. Hes hardly going to be planning for it but you are right he maybe could have reacted a bit quicker and done more, Shelveys im not sure if it is Atsu taking a while in his head to decide do I go or cross, again time, and equally finding Shelvey with less time to connect. We are talking about a player who hasnt scored a single goal, its tough. I just think on this occasion we surrendered a win with the pressure we allowed on us late doors. Im not agreeing with grumpy wholeheartedly. Or him disliking Rafa. Just the subs were not what I wanted to see at that stage of the game.
