Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)

Nope. Zero. They get paid up until they are sacked. Maybe 4 weeks notice at a push. A year is way too much. But, simply my opinion. Getting paid off for failure just sticks in my craw, you get tossers like mcclaren not just resigning because of the payoff and people like bruce seemingly making a career out of it. Makes me sick. -

There should be zero compensation for managers being sacked for not performing. Agents should not be paid by the club. Sorry, feel like my post is a crossover from the Pet Hates thread. -
In a post that doesn't make them a parody of themselves... https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/tough-safc-ex-players.1589245/

It is really sad about Lowes. I really enjoyed his radio commentary but Im pretty sure I remember him being removed from that role rather abruptly and I was never sure why. Unless I'm mixing him up with that Century radio bloke (not football) who disappeared rather quickly and then Metro picked him up for a while.

You think right. Think my timeline is right, but I mainly go off what I read on here so might be a little out.

Aye, but all of a sudden the Pedro deal was off and look what happened. If this right back deal has appeared to have fallen through then maybe we'll be getting the modern day equivalent of Cafu (sorry, nee idea who is a good right back these days).

You know what? I don't mind if we don't sign anyone else this window. We're not playing Football Manager with cheats and I understand we won't sort out the squad in two windows. We've got rid of ashley, we don't have the scratting around in the bargain basements that Rafa was forced to do and the likes of ParBruce relished in disheartening us with in a lot of circumstances. I'm still excited, it's a great feeling that we aren't still the joke of the premier league anymore, we can attract the names we could before that fat cockney soul sucker bought us. I'm excited at the prospect we might sign someone who isn't a villa ninth choice injured midfielder and I have faith in the manager and the executive team, yes team, we have now. Not just that creepy little bootlicking worm. I love our club again, I don't need to necessarily have another world class player come in this window.

He can fuck off, pardew apologist. I can forgive him being a shit keeper, I won't forgive his fawning over pardew.
-
I was never a fan but that's because he'd been touted as a possible signing under paedew so naturally I wanted nothing to do with him. Can't fault his early effort with us though. Best of luck.

Wait, we're possibly signing The Emissary of the Prophets?!? I always thought baseball was his sport.

On a zoom call and just burst out laughing at this. The call stopped and looked at me and I'm still giggling away.

23 for both us and west brom, but it's not the regular.
-
Wonder what he's like with unidentified flying objects in the box.

This was funny, but someone has now altered it further, adding in a load more stuff. It's now just try-hard incoherent babbling in an attempt at comedy.

I have to question why Shearer counts bruce as a mate. What does he see as his likeable qualities? He makes Alan look handsome on a night out? His abject failure as a manager makes him an easy target at parties? Alan admires his style of renting out properties? That he can do little to no research on a bruce managed team as the "tactics", sound bytes, excuses and results will be the same as at his previous clubs? That never mind ashley, but bruce himself was a massive reason that Newcastle were an absolute joke? That bruce would often have a dig at the fans? That he claims to be a Newcastle fan, even when it's blatantly obvious that he's not? That he was instrumental in destroying our hopes for this season before the takeover? That he loves that a piss poor "manager" was absolutely set on taking his club for a ride? Something a little more sinister? If my supposed friend did what bruce did to my club, he would no longer be my friend. So what does Wor Al see in this piss taking fat failure? I'd love to see a journalist question him directly on that. -
His points on Grealish's behavior yes. The slimy tosser still oozed over the bruce period in a smarmy way that just reaffirmed my dislike for him.
-
? Don't worry about that, I'm always happy to learn.

Ian Woan and Steve Stone at Forest used to always raise their games against us like they had fucking cheat codes.

John Terry is a bit of a weird one. I have absolutely no memory of him until he seemed to suddenly appear at about age 24 in the Chelsea defence and was immediately lauded as being really great. I had never heard of him, either as an up and coming prospect, regular on the subs bench or having periods of cover for some more established player. I can't even remember a loan report of him out at some local lower league club. To me, it felt like he literally just appeared out of nowhere.

Off topic but can I just say, I am loving this thread. It's the only time I've felt I could fully contribute something without asking questions. Loving reading through the opinions too, proper smiling whilst going through the thread. Thank you so much ???

They did this with quite a few players. Joe Cole and kieron dyer come to mind for starters. It was all about shoehorning in the current darlings than playing the best in those positions.
-
??? Aye, I bet he won a fair few free kicks using his run, trick, fall over routine then as well ?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I watched him in his earlier years, fell out with football over the Ashley years and now watching him again in his current time at man u. I wasn't judging him all on his current stint.
