  1. Can we not just praise a player for doing well without forcing people into making negative posts about him in response to nonsense like this? But he is imo, and I had a Jersey with Enrique on the back. No-one got past Enrique, and no-one gets past Dummett, and if they ever did, both had the pace to make up for it. Not sure why you'd say what I wrote was nonsense. Nobody gets past him but he doesn't often win back possession like Enrique did. But as somebody else said, it works for our system. He concedes a throw and we get the chance to re-organise.
  2. Was he ever charged with anything? Because that's the thing for me. If it's evidence of a crime it should go through the correct channels. But then maybe too many rich successful people have gone through the right channels and got away, and the people are enacting their own justice. It's a scary situation like. Remember when sci-fi predicted interactive TV? I think we're pretty much there now.
  3. If the potential to kill comes from the reduced ability to focus on driving, then surely the same can be said for taking your eyes off the road to focus on hockling in the car driving beside you. He didn't do mirror, signal, manoeuvre.
  4. He's been absolutely solid so far. Demonstrated by the reaction to his howler on Saturday. If that had been Darlow in his 4th consecutive game, I think the sky would have fallen in.
  5. The worst thing about it is the casual nature. He knows the guy recognises him and he goes and does that, with such accuracy that it's hard to believe he hasn't done it before. The guy is a public figure FFS. And yet he doesn't think once, never mind twice, about doing that in public.
  6. What is the furthest a club has dropped, into the relegation zone, on the last day?
  7. That's what I was going on. I'd completely forgotten about the possibility of a takeover. One of the luxuries of focussing on the positives on the pitch. A good takeover would be the best, but going forward without that as a possibility we are looking stable, and definitely have something to build on. We've bolted the horse to the cart, maybe this year we'll feed the horse.
  8. Yeah. Well you could end some of your chapters with “Needles to say… I took drugs”. needles. Drugs.
  9. I'm not convinced Rafa is at breaking point. He's been frustrated, but if he thought Ashley was making a mug of him, surely he would have walked already. I think he wants to stay and relishes the challenge. If Ashley can somehow turn things into kept promises, by givingRafa all the money generated by the club this season, then we could be on a fresh page. It's just such a big if.
  10. We should officially rename ourselves to Newcastle United Football Cloob TBH. Ha. Yeah. Could there be any higher honour.
  11. There is the smallest chance that Rafa gets the TV money in the summer. I think he'll stay that being the case. It'll most likely need to cover wages as well as fees, but I think Rafa could do a lot with it.
  12. Hard to imagine where we would be now if he hadn't decided he wanted Steve McClaren's job.
  13. Far from it. It was chanted regularly throughout the mid to late eighties, and was revived when our rivalry reached it's peak.
  14. I'd prefer him back and in our team a f*** sight more than money we don't see the benefit of. Rafa seemed rattled by being questioned about him, but I don't see that as a bad thing if he is giving Mitro a test rather than being just stubborn and sacking him of. This Yeah. I'd like to think the situation is still open to review once his loan is up. I just can't imagine Rafa having a hissy fit about anything, tbh. It would seem short-sighted to accept any offers before he has the chance to show off at the world cup, so there is a chance he'll return for the first day of training, when Rafa can make a judgement.
  15. I take it we don't have an option to buy?
  16. Oh aye. He was often in space, but I think that was possibly more to do with us, as a team, working hard to give him that space. As opposed to Southampton deciding to give him it.
  17. He was excellent today, Southampton allowed him to play which is always a massive f***up. I'm not too sure about that. There were a number of occasions where he destroyed the theory that he needs time on the ball. Not saying there weren't occasions that you are right.
  18. It's already been mentioned, about his lack of pace being compensated by his anticipation and reading of the game. two attributes that depend heavily on knowledge of the league you're in. It's no surprise that he has taken time to show his quality on a consistent level. Actually, considering his long absence, he's done remarkably.
  19. I met that fucker in Tenerife, 1996.
  20. Southampton were shit, bt that is credit to us. It's the way we play. Let the oppostion have the ball and concentrate on restricting the options available. It could be argued that we hae succeeded in making the opposition look decidedly average, for long periods in every game.
  21. I can see Ashley asking for Andy Carroll money.
  22. I said it before, once more, time after time. Whooooooa... Until we start investing in the type of player who can perform, on a regular basis, in front of 52000 crowds, our stadium is more of a hindrance. Wonderful though it is.
  23. I have to admit I thought that was a little disrespectful. The only conclusion to be drawn is that Rafa was misquoted. Think the context was in relation to the fact he played so little, rather than him being s****. Ah, fair enough.
