Spurs have that same profoundly depressing quality that we had in Robson’s last full season. Going to just about win most games, but it’s all pretty joyless. And then lose the hard games.

I’ve done it more than once- Sunderland, Spurs x2- and my honest advice would be to just not bother, mate. Thoroughly awful experience.

It is genuinely concerning reading a few of the people on that Ready to Go thread about us. It is just hatred on a level way beyond what I have ever experienced as a football fan in a split area of the North East with plenty of Sunderland supporting mates. The thing about Caulkin is that he goes for ‘grumpy old curmudgeon’ on podcasts and lacks the wit to quite pull it off, so just makes him sound a bit like hard work. His writing is fine though, if a bit over lyrical at times.
