When I think of our striker search I imagine a clown falling down the stairs, getting up and then stepping on rakes on his way to start his car, he turns the engine on and the car blows up.
-
Seriously man, enough of this patter
-
How about this Chelsea, give us Jackson for free and Isak is all yours for 110m. Anyone but Liverpool.

Yeah, the gap in quality & resources between Man Utd and Grimsby is lightyears wider than the gap between Celtic and Kairat. The only reason I'd consider Celtics defeat worse is that they squandered the chance to bank around 40m. There's fuck all money to be made in Scottish football, so that CL money could've made the financial gap between them and Rangers go from enormous to insurmountable

Amorim was insane to take the job midway through last season. Sporting were untouchable while he was there, he would've likely led to them to a treble and then had his pick of the jobs this summer. Any English football fan would've told him that Man Utd is a poisoned chalice, but managers have big egos and like a naïve teenaged girl who only dates bad boys, they always think they're gonna be the ones to change it.

I can't decide what's worse. Celtic not being able to score in more than 3 and half hours of football against a WiFi password who come from Borat's village or one of the most expensively assembled and well paid squads in world football crashing out to league 2 Grimsby who had a perfectly good goal ruled out and then scored 12/13 penalties against a 50m GK while their manager didn't even watch. After the anguish of Monday, a bit a schadenfreude has warmed my cold heart somewhat. The mackems and Rangers player their part too.

Of all the cartel teams who gazumped us, of course it was Man Utd to be the ones to land the shite one, that club is like a clown running across a minefield. I find it seriously alarming that we were willing to break our transfer record for this bum. An absolute shitebag with the heart of a mouse

Onana has the opportunity to do the funniest thing here
-
I got bad vibes from this bum from the get go, of all the striker sagas this summer, this was the one deal I wanted to fall through. He could've had us or Arsenal.

Move o........Nope. Not gonna say it. Not gonna say it.

No way Russell Martin survives this, even if he beats Celtic he's a dead man walking.

A very sobering week for Celtic, Rangers and probably Scottish football as a whole. The champions humiliated by a ragtag bunch of Soviet bloc journeymen and Kazakh youth players and the supposed European specialist team getting absolutely bodied by a team from a league they usually cite as one of equal quality. Maybe both sets of fans will give their "we'd easily be in the top 7 of the PL" craic a rest for a while. The derby on Sunday should be an all timer. The Stoppable Force vs The Moveable Object.

Tell those calculator shaggers that a player is worth whatever the selling club and buying agree he's worth. Stats don't lie, but they seldom tell the whole story
-
Jee whizz are they still talking about that match? Between talking about Newcastle on RTG, Nissan backshifts and shagging seagulls it's little wonder they don't have the spare time to go along to the Bungalow of Light

Would people be happy with a scenario where we finish the window with Wissa & JSL for around 110m and sell Isak to Liverpool for around 140m (bear in mind Sociedad get a cut of this)? We'd end up with very little profit, (if any) but arguably upgrade our striker department from last year. Having 2 good, solid PL proven strikers to rotate with each other, plus Osula is better in my book than one guy who was world class for about 40-50% of the season and his back up was a crooked, empty jersey. The issue there is that every dirty trick Isak & Liverpool have played on us this summer eventually paid off and the optics (everyone's favourite word) look terrible.
-
What a time we live in where BlueCo get mentioned ahead of the actual team he's going to be playing for. In a way, I kinda admire how brazen Chelsea are about exploiting loopholes.
-
60m is what 40m was 5 years ago. If he does well with us, which I'm sure he will, no one will ever mention his price tag again. People also need to get it out their heads that he is just a back up striker. Even if he ends up being the 2nd best striker at the club, he will still get significant game time and will likely feature in every fixture he's available for. We can't afford to have a yawning chasm of quality between our two strikers like Isak and Wilson last season.
-
Potter is surely toast now? Nownit all makes sense why he was in no rush to take another PL job and enjoyed tending to his garden while being paid by Chelsea. Can't see Brendan Rodgers getting another PL job. His style of play is fucking dire and his record in the transfer market I'm both England and Scotland leaves a lot to be desired. He came back to Celtic to make amends for bailing on them last time so it would ruin whatever legacy he has there if he doesn't see out the last year of his deal. 60k a week to run over the top of the likes of Falkirk and Livingston and no decent PL offers may help sway him as well. As for Russell Martin, who could've predicted that a smarmy, vegan, Buddhist, southern Green Party member wouldn't go down well with the Rangers fans!
-
Easiest tie possible at home please. No need for another complicated route to the final!
-
Getting a PL proven striker less than a week before deadline day from a fellow PL club who don't want to sell said player and will then be left scrambling for a replacement themselves is never a situation which is going to result in a bargain. How we've ended up in this situation where we're still running around with our arses on fire trying to replace Wilson is a completely different matter which we can all dissect at the end of the window. But for now, if Eddie wants him, that's good enough for me, he's done enough to earn our trust with transfers.

Like everyone, I want what's best for the football club, but of course, we all have slightly different opinions of what 'the best' looks like. For me, the absolute priority is to stand our ground and show that as a club we don't cave in to the pressure from bum agents, media shills and man child players. By digging our heels in we'll probably end up selling him for under our valuation for eg Barca/Real next season for 110m, but so what. We're a club that is aiming to be #1, we don't get there by selling a domestic rival our best player*. So the question is, what do we do with him? Reintegration is out of the question, our players deserve better than to be told to welcome back with open arms a guy who has torpedoed their pre season and cost them 3-5 points in the opening 2 games. Thankfully, as per ShadowPuppets post, it seems the squad and manager won't entertain having him back. Is there any chance we could just fuck him off to Fenerbache or someone on loan like that until next season? *our best player when he can be arsed. For the first 1/3 and last 1/3 of last season he was a passenger
-
I've totally gone off the idea of this guy. No matter who we're getting at this point, we'll be getting ripped off, so at least let's not get ripped off for another man child.
