Kevin Keegan is ready to swoop for the new Didier Drogba - powerful St Etienne hitman Bafetimbi Gomis - in a stunning £12million splash for Newcastle United.

Keegan is due to fly to France this weekend to give his final blessing to the move, set up by the new Toon spying team. St Etienne have already said no to a £7m offer from Bolton.

29 by the time the season starts, massive wage and signing on fee. Doesn't score many....

BUT...we don't actually have any strikers. Tough one.

worthless pieces of shit

it's insane and I have to laugh a little but the immensity of the timeline to failure here is killing me. Just a long running saga of stupidity, to date the most drawn out letdown from this pack of asshole clowns. For their next trick they'll have a 13 year old we can keep tabs on for 12 years before he finally signs for Scunthorpe.

Like a reverse (time) of us selling Carroll and getting Ba on a free, everyone was livid at that.

Really we should have signed Colback before selling Cabaye and everyone would have been happy.

NUFC supposedly didn't want him as they are confident they will get their top striker targets. We'll all hold our breath on that happening won't we? Most teams have at least 3 strikers. The teams who play one striker tend to have creative, goal scoring attacking midfielders supporting them. Well NUFC have Cisse and either don't play or have creative, goal scoring attacking midfielders.

Relying on Cisse is a scary thought considering how limited he is
