Totally agree about staying on his line - there were a couple of times he could have come out and swept up if he wasn't on his line. Nerves no doubt and would like to see him get a run to see if he has what it takes.

Yeah will definitely improve, but wish he was getting a run against easier opposition than he will if he's playing from now on

Again, rather him than Jelly belly

Only because Jelly bean is a grade A Pardew arse licker. Jak's not ready for this sadly, but then Mr Blobby shouldn't even be here.

None of them are ready though, but I'd rather give someone like Jak who still has a lot to learn a chance than Blobby. Jak started well, but made a bit of a mistake for the goal but still managed to regroup and make couple of saves.

Seemed to stay on his line too much at the low byline crosses, but come out a lot on anything high enough for him to punch away. Looked a little flustered in general but was mostly solid. Not sure much can be judged from his cameo today. It's not like he had all that many shots to deal with.

I'd prefer he wasn't thrown in totally at the deep end, but he might have to be.  The games we have coming up could wreck the confidence of a young goalkeeper and that would be counter productive.  It'd be nicer if he got a couple of cup games instead of a run against Arsenal, Sunderland, Tottenham and Man Utd.  Lose all of them and if he plays poorly, satan will be skating to work before he gets another chance.
