West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Recommended Posts

Okay. I've supported such a move long enough, but 20m is just ridiculous for a club with our kind of business model.

Ultimately, the next twist lies on Carroll's next move, whether he accepts a stay or he wants to push for a move.

The name of our game is to unsettle players, which is dirty pool.

But here we probably don't really even want him back, MA/DL just wanted to twist that £35m knife some more with a :troll: bid.

All they've done is name their asking price if no one is willing to pay it he will go for less. They've made a rod for their own back already by basically telling the world that the new manager thinks he's crap and his first act as new manager has been trying to peddle him to other clubs.

If we genuinely offered anything in excess of £15m, I really can't see Liverpool saying no.

This is just that ridiculous club puffing its pigeon chest out again.

BBC: Liverpool will not allow Andy Carroll to leave on loan, but a deal to pay a fee to have him temporarily and to pay more in the future to keep him forever could still be agreed.

So, they won't loan him but they might loan him?

I can just imagine Rodgers typing out a text and sending it to multiple people like.

Rodgers is trying to sound like he's in control of the situation when he's clearly lost it.

He does seem to have a very definite idea of how he wants the team to play. There are one or two old dogs in that squad who might not be receptive to these new tricks. Carroll's not the only one who might struggle to adjust.

Thing is when Carroll started out for Liverpool he didn't play badly, just the goals didn't come, that lead to the confidence going which lead to the shite performances. The fee we seem to be talking about should get a player less reliant on confidence which sees massive swings in a players form.
