Charles N'Zogbia joins Wigan Athletic for fee believed to be £6.5m

Thing is, who has issued the statement? I can't imagine any footballer would have the nous to know how to "issue a statement", they're so mollycoddled and adrift from the real world, is his Agent still McKay? He is being very badly advised indeed.

N'Zogbia is out of character I hate him to say this kind of things when the transfer window is very close and we have massive local derby selfish guy.

The fact is that he's refused to play and for that he's finished here.

Didnt stop Kieron Dyer carrying on for a while (did he actually end up playing that day at Middlesbrough?)

EDIT : But I agree. That should be the last we ever see of him

.com's take. More or less sums it up.

Excuse us if we fail to get too animated about the statement released on Monday evening by Charles N'Zogbia:

"First of all I wish to apologise to the fans for wanting to leave the club."

"However, having been insulted by Joe Kinnear, I will never play for him again while he remains Newcastle manager.

"The club are aware that there are offers on the table for me and they should accept one of them."

Apology not accepted. You haven't wanted to play for us for a couple of years now, notably protesting on the pitch frequently when selected at left back.

To use JFK's post-match slip-of-the-tongue as an excuse to leave won't wash with most of us - presumably it didn't cause the mysterious injury that prevented N'Zogbia travelling to Manchester.

What Charlie has done is manage to cost the club a couple of million in transfer fees, with his refusal to play again giving buying clubs carte blanche to drop their bids.

If we weren't in such dire straits it would be nice to give sulky Charles a season in the Reserves but of course that isn't a luxury we can afford at the moment.

Having said all that, Kinnear needs to send out Chris Hughton more often if he is going to drop clanger after clanger in front of the cameras, although Sir Bobby used to do it on a regular basis without causing any upset....

He (or his people) have ran there mouth for most of Jan & now he is refusing to play against SUNDERLAND at time we have no players because of a slip of the tongue by JFK.  Anyone with a brain cell will see past this & see it as this tosser trying even more to force his move. He has been whacked by Faye, the big AC has chucked a few fists at him lets face it the kid is a prize cunt. Keep him till the summer as he is still in contract & I am sure by then AC Milan, Real Madrid, Man Utd, Barca or Bayern will have the funds to buy him.

Has he put in a transfer request?

Hmm, didn't think so.  Mr Principles N'Zogbia... yeah, sure.

It should have though, I went off Dyer after that.

Probably edited my last post too late.... I agree entirely. Disgraceful thing for a player to do.

I'm not sure, he's done as much by mouthing off but I don't know if he's put a request in writing which will be the right way to do it.

Anyway, how is he going to pass a medical and move on if he is injured, or was he on strike last night?  If so, they shouldnt be paying the cry baby.

The point by .com about him going and giving the green light to other clubs to drop their offering prices is correct. Same was done by Given, which is why I do not mind the club playing hardball with him and not letting him move until an offer comes in that allows us to tie up our planned deals.

No loyalty bonus when you put in a request though.

Should get rid of these fucking loyalty bonuses.  They only ever seem to fuck up the club.

If his genuine reason for wanting to leave is because his name was mis-pronounced he's more of a cunt than I thought.

Although on the other hand I wish Shola had left when SBR always used to call him Carl Cort.

Follow up statement is the first thing JFK's said that makes sense whilst he's been in this job.

I'm not sure we can afford to let players rot, we'd be punishing our own club that way.

possibly mistaken but i think the player often negotiates a loyalty cluase into the contract....on top of that the player gets 10% of a transfer fee if he didn't ask for the move.
