Had two lucky omens today, firstly a guy with log grey hair, a beard and starey bulging eyes, looking like a cross between Charles Manson and a castaway storming away from the ground before the match screaming "DON'T FUCKING BOTHER, THEY'RE ALL FUCKING WANKERS" in a pristine toon top and also a guy standing next to me at the urinals 5 minute before kick off dropping his wallet directly into my stream of piss. That was some serious release of energy when that third goal went in. I barely celebrated the first; was more of a "thank fuck" punch of the air... second one i went loopy... third i just looked into the sky and screamed for about ten seconds. Actually gave myself a headache; looked like a right nutter probably. Nearly everything about the night was perfect. Well done players, supporters, managers alike. Not been to SJP as many times as most, but that was easily one of the best for me. That last five or ten minutes after the third goal (and after the FT whistle, come to think of it), is just about my best ever experience at the place. Just brilliant. The big question for me is whether to start Oba or not, he will be on a high no doubt but I can't help but think he's worth a lot more coming on as an impact sub. Biggest alugh I had was when I watched it back and at the final whistle, Big Al massive grin jumping about, congratulations go around, Al spinds around and went from massive grin to sad face in a nano secound as he went over to Southgate.
