It's all a load of bollocks isn't it. Every single media outlet is just guessing so when/if it happens they can claim to be right. We won't know in advance of it actually happening IMO; it'll either come completely out of the blue or not happen at all. The problem is that it's annoying as fuck. I have some optimism that a sale might go through but that's just based on things like Shearer and Shepherd keeping their silence nothing to do with any of the clueless speculation in the press. Neither have ruled out a return to the club so they must believe there is some chance of progress. If Shearer thought he was just being dicked about he'd probably have lamped Llambiarse by now. He is not like Glazer, Hicks or Gillett - Anschutz is more hands off. It would be AEG managing Newcastle with a Chairman running things in the UK working for the UK AEG office. Anschutz owns over half a dozen sports teams and he is rarely seen watching the games or getting directly involved... that is just not his way. And when he dies AEG will live on without him. I honestly think having an owner who doesn't have any real passion for the club other than business interest might be a good thing. Keegan is claiming that his departure from St James’ Park last September was a case of constructive dismissal, citing boardroom interference as evidence of a concerted attempt to force him out of the club. The former manager’s claims are contested by Newcastle United. If a court was to rule in Keegan’s favour, Newcastle could be forced to pay up to £8m, as he was only eight months into a three-year contract worth around £3m-a-year when he left the Magpies. Understandably, the club’s prospective new owners are concerned at being saddled with a seven-figure bill, and it is thought they have demanded Ashley assumes personal responsibility for the dispute.
