A Liverpool fan stabbed to death in a bar brawl in London not the victim of football rivalry, police have said.

Alex Jarmay had travelled to the capital with friends, including his brother Luke, to watch his team play Cardiff in the Carling Cup final at Wembley

The 26-year-old, from Bromborough, was stabbed outside Bar Uno in Camden on Saturday night.

Mr Jarmay was pronounced dead at the scene, on Inverness Street, and a post mortem later revealed he died from a single stab wound to the chest.

A 17-year-old boy and three men aged 23, 25 and 27 were arrested at the scene and are being questioned at police stations in north and central London.

Scotland Yard detectives investigating the murder have ruled out football as a possible motive for the attack.

A spokesman said: “It has now been established that Alex and a group of friends had come down to London to watch the League Cup final.

“However neither Alex nor any of his group were wearing football colours or acting in a way which would identify them as football supporters and there is no evidence to suggest that the incident which occurred in Bar Uno was motivated by football rivalry.”

Officers appealed for anyone with information to call 020 8358 0200 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Obviously a sad story, to be a pedant how can they confirm the bit in bold? You're team have won a cup only a few hours ago and you are out on the piss but you wouldn't be acting in a way which would identify you as a football supporter? ???

Apologies if that comment is in bad taste, just doesn't make sense. Hope those caught are the guilty party and face the consequences.

On a similar note. http://www.mousebreaker.com/games/jumpersforgoalposts4/playgame can be entertaining from time to time.

I got a temporary addiction to this yesterday. Pissed me off to begin with but then I was hooked and became a header and freekick specialist.

Spent hours on it

Really hate it, I must be doing it wrong but some of it just seems impossible

Can somebody recommend a bar in Hexham to watch the game? Has to be the sort of place you'd take your retired parents though. :)

The Fox is ok... Mixed crowd normally and nowt flash but friendly...

The turn and shoot just never goes in, you don't get the option to direct it do you?

Edit: Ok just scored 3 out of 5, went wide every time in about 30 attempts earlier ???

Ok the passing thing I don't understand, I can hit the green line perfectly and it will be a terrible pass every time.

The passing one is the hardest one tbf.

The snapshot, you click when the ball reaches you to 'trap' it, and then hold on for 0.5 of a secondish before you let go and that determines which bit of the goal it goes into/not into.

Just called Haymarket magazines as they said I was entitled to a few free copies of FourFourTwo for some reason. Anyway, guy that I was speaking to was a Newcastle fan from London, ended up being on the phone for ten minutes discussing Cisse's good start, that Ben Arfa should be starting for us and the game on Sunday. Said he'd never been to St James Park ( :aww:) but would love to come up for a game sometime. Thankfully it was only 2p per minute
