Guest koye
He´s been very good this season and will play in the CL for Roma next season, no chance he will come. We should not spend any big money on a left back either..
Guest Heneage
As Koye alluded to, he's just settled in the Roma side, no reason to leave.
Conjo
Ranieri told Norwegian media just recently when asked if he thought Riise were Europes best left back: "Riise has become alot better defensivley. There isn't many good left backs around, and im happy to be his manager." Taking away our Norwegians desperate plot to make him say he is the best, those words clearly insinuate that he isn't going to leave anytime soon. Tisd09
I'd be pleasantly surprised at last if we had 15 million bucks to spend. If Wickham could be bought for a reasonable price then great. I think 15 million invested correctly along with a loan or two as back up would see us comfortably stay in the league next season. If Andy Carroll can continue his development that would be a massive boost too.
Yorkie
Is the Wickham lad actually any good? Was a nice finish against us but i honestly hadn't heard of him before then.
Guest Phil K
Is the Wickham lad actually any good? Was a nice finish against us but i honestly hadn't heard of him before then. We've had plenty players bought because they scored a rare goal against us, from a Martin Taylor (think that was his name) from Oxford way back in the Awful 80s, to Ryan Taylor now. Taylor has been perhaps the best one, and thats a bit depressing, eh ?

With a very Swedish name. If he's 6ft 4in at the age of 14 he could be massive by the time he's 17. Is there not some sort of rule that juniors of a certain age can't join a foreign club? James
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1274881/Bolton-Newcastle-eye-Denmark-goalkeeper-Jesper-Christiansen.html?ITO=1490 Jesper Christiansen. Extremely bad journalism Oh yeah, first of all he's not 2nd choice, secondly he will never play a world cup match and thirdly he's absolutely s****. Not even first choice in FC Copenhagen. Most clubs have a third choice keeper they never intend to play just so the club have a steady reserve team keeper so the outfield players don't have to worry too much. see Tony Caig, or recently Nielsen at Man City. Robster
I think you mean Andy Thomas? We got him from Oxford. He did have a decent purple patch where he scored something like 7 in 6 games.

It has to be crap though because it would be the most brainless signing ever. Cheap, experienced cover. I'd take him if he cost next to nowt. We're potentially going into a season with Taylor, Coloccini and Williamson as our only seasoned centre-backs. I like Kadar but it would be nice to have him as a 'last resort' option, or even get him out on loan in the Championship. Someone like O'Brien would be a tidy sort of signing, but i'd rather we hung on for Fitz.

TRon
I'd take obrien as cover personally. I think we need to use our limited funds to upgrade the quality of the squad rather than bring in players who are arguably no better than our young hopefuls.
