Fenham Mag
I wonder who's place he'll take on the bench.
Unbelievable
Would rather have kept Guthrie. He left, rejected out contract offer. For a 20k/week deal elsewhere. Worth matching. Didn't Guthrie leave in search for first team football? Shame it hasn't worked out for him so far.
durhamunigeordie
Being offered to Championship clubs on loan next season. According to Douglas he's on 25k a week though - surely not?!
Guest Roger Kint
Being offered to Championship clubs on loan next season. According to Douglas he's on 25k a week though - surely not?! Free transfer, had PL experience, hardly a massive deal in those circumstances
durhamunigeordie
Was recovering from a cruciate injury and had played 20 games for Everton. I see where you are coming from, but I just found it surprising under the current regime - I guess maybe they thought they had signed a star in the making. aussiemag
It was our first season up. They got a bit excited I think. His touch and awareness is one of the worst I've seen from a premier league footballer.
Ste
Was worth a gamble, I thought he had a big future ahead of him. We haven't really lost out on signing him.

LoveItIfWeBeatU
Send him out on loan for a season (with the option to recall him). If it goes well sell him. If it goes really well keep him. If it doesn't go well his contract expires in June 2014.
alexthegreat
.COM have this under a bit about Abeid and Amalfitano: Dan Gosling has also been deemed surplus to requirements but he still has a year left on his lucrative contract so a loan move seems most likely. Pilko
The very definition of 5/10. A complete non-entity.
AyeDubbleYoo
He's a weird example really, just seems like a moderately fit bloke who is alright at kicking a ball. You would think to make it as a pro you would need a lot lot more than that. Strange.

Cajun
Was actually excited about this guy when we signed him Me too, hard working midfielder, not the most gifted technically or remotely quick but will get into the box and score a few goals. Put the Everton comments down to bitterness at how he left them but turns out they were spot in

Jack Flash
He needs to watch some of my Nolan DVD's. He'll be handy for a Hull or a Cardiff.
Pilko
He needs to watch some of my Nolan DVD's. He'll be handy for a Hull or a Cardiff. I think he's a promoted team squad filler or a promotion-chasing team's 20-game third choice midfielder.

Chris_R
Shocking signing for him and the club. Think it was a fucking brilliant signing for him. He's been raking in £25k/week for doing sod all. He hit the jackpot when he signed because he's clearly never been good enough to justify either the move or the wages that came with it. FWIW I don't hold that against him for a moment. We took a chance, it didn't work out. Feel very "meh" about his entire time with us.
toontownman
It is too bad.. he had so much potential at Everton. Looked like we had bagged a potential start and future England international. He has had a horrible run with injuries which is a shame for the lad. Looks like it has wasted any potential he had. Championship fodder is what looks likely...but to be honest its hard to make that assessment when he has only appeared a handful of times in between injuries. Ronaldo
Still think he'll be a player. He always seems to get chances when he's on the pitch.
