Guest reefatoon
And I would still have him in ahead of pinky and perky who are playing at the moment. We have an abundance of s**** midfielders.
binnsy
He is s***, that's what's wrong. he looks a better player as every game goes by with Anita and Colback plodding around doing sweet FA in the middle of the park, the sooner he get fit (properly match fit) the better cos the team is desperate for him in the middle of the park. For those people who say he's crap, picks up too many bookings etc, well we are a better team with him in it and Colback picks up just as many bookings but at least when Tiote gets one he is nailing an opponent and not just grabbing a shirt! AyeDubbleYoo
I don't hate Tiote, he has had very poor spells but I would give him another chance. I would try Anita/Wijnaldum first mind.
TRon
And I would still have him in ahead of pinky and perky who are playing at the moment. We have an abundance of s**** midfielders. I think Neville nailed it when he said he couldn't understand what our midfield was supposed to be doing yesterday. They weren't defending effectively, weren't attacking and in just about every game so far this season they have been dominated despite going with a 5 man midfield. henke
I'd start rob Elliott in midfield ahead of Colback so Tiotes a no brainer.
Skeletor
If he's not injured I'd put him back in. Not that I rate him highly anymore but some players do need a kick up the backside. Ideally we'd drop all of Anita, Colback, Sissoko and Cisse for the Watford game.
Mole_Toonfan
If he's suddenly energetic, look like he can protect the back 4 and so on then fair enough. But i haven't seen anything but someone who is never in position, lacks energy compared to before so doesn't cover the same amount of ground and overall is just bad. Seen nothing for the last few seasons to suggest any different.
buzza
If we bring back tiote we should deffo go 433 with him as our central defensive pivot, flanked by wijnaldum and sissoko
TK-421
So is he injured? Not being on the bench yesterday would suggest something is wrong. This is from the Daily Mail article about Cisse... "Cisse is not the only player causing concern. His close friend Cheick Tiote is another who wanted to quit St James’ Park this summer. The Ivory Coast midfielder was missing from the squad at West Ham and there are questions about his commitment." thenige
As bad a Colback is, a player in CM like Tiote is exactly what we don't need.

I think Cisse will be sold in January because we will probably be able to get Austin for about £7-8m, then £4-5m for Cisse will look a lot better. Don't know what the hell is going on with Tiote as far as a move is concerned. If he's not playing what's the point in hanging on to him?

The midfield has been the worst and most dysfunctional part of the team this season. With or without Tiote something's got to change, especially since we've got a squad which is overloaded with them. Guest antz1uk
Tiote had been terrible then he came back and had a few flashes of half decency, however he cannot be as bad as those 2 playing together and taking up 2 playing positons that really should only need 1 to do the job neither of them as a pairing are able to do, however if these stories about his attitude are right then dump him in the ressies along with Cisse and Sissoko, absolute shambles out of colback, anita, tiote, sissoko and cisse they're either crap or have bad attitudes. that's 5 first teamers that are currently contributing nothing to the cause
TRon
It was always daft to give Abeid away when he was basically the only alternative to Tiote if we wanted to go with only one defensive midfielder.
Ronaldo
We didn't get rid because nobody wants a midfielder who's shit going forward and too thick to protect a defence.

Unbelievable
I believe Cheick will get his chance this season and take it. He's by far the best defensive midfielder we currently have and Pardew has killed him by making him some sort of deep playmaker which he most certainly doesn't have the attributes for. Pair him with Wijnaldum as the box-to-box midfielder in centre mid and tell him to sit/protect and only play simple passes. Have De Jong or Perez as the number 10 and our spine will look a lot more solid.

Yet his alternative defensive midfield duo Anita and Colback have managed to turn us into a midfield shambles which can't defend or attack. I would agree with Unbelievable if there wasn't talk Tiote wants away, unless he gets his attitude sorted out, he won't be getting anywhere near the first team.
