Yep, they mentioned that on MOTD, saying the wording is still quite ambiguous.

It is ambiguous. The ball was between his hands (but not touching both at the same time). It should say ‘between 2 hands and in contact with both, simultaneously’.

It should. I’d image that they will go and look at the wording of that rule and amend it. I always thought that you had to have 2 hands on the ball to be deemed under control. The defence afterwards makes it clear that having 2 hands on the ball isn’t required and it says or, then goes on to explain holding the ball.

You could cast Thomas Frank and Unai Emery as the killers in a gritty European detective noir with Eddie Howe as the calm collected cop with his sidekick Jason Tindall flying off the handle and getting up in suspects’ faces. Fairly sure you’ve got a multi-million pound award winning series there. Dan Burn would be an excellent undertaker with some secrets to share

Premier League clubs have voted to approve changes to rules governing commercial deals, despite opposition from Manchester City, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

At a meeting in London on Friday, clubs took under 30 minutes to approve the changes to Associated Party Transaction regulations (APTs).

Clubs voted 16 in favour and four against. Manchester City and Aston Villa had both written to rival clubs before the meeting to seek support.

They voted against the current PSR ruleset.

But they did vote to block our sponsorship deals when the takeover happened.

So, yeah. Fuck them for that early self-interest cowardice. But they are also getting fucked over by PSR here.

That's shit that man. Give me full time football manager/part time detective Mr Steve Barnes any day. He's the Real (Madrid) deal

I think they clarified it after this?

Some Villa fans wanting the PL to write off their PSR deficit because of this

If that happened I'd want some compensation for the gazillions we missed out on when Mbappe got given a dodgy pen in injury time in the CL last year.

Villa have only cared about PSR since Emery came in and they realised that if they tried, they could be a force in the Premier League.

It’s weird, in general I wished them well in Europe this season, without watching them to win it. It was good for their fans to have that Bayern match, progress out of League stage of the competition etc. Once it became clear last season that we wouldn’t get a Champions League slot, most Newcastle fans actually wanted them to qualify.

I can understand them feeling hard done by after yesterday, but them going on the way they are is a total disregard to the fact that other teams have suffered dodgy decisions that have punished them this season*, haven’t Forest had a fair few games where they have had dodgy decision go against them that’s cost them plenty of points?

* Aside from Liverpool who will never ever have decisions go against them.
