Guest hydeous
Sikhs are from Punjab which was divided during the partition. The few sikhs in pakistan speak Punjabi and possibly Urdu, but the majority of Sikhs (19 mill in India and half a mill in the UK) speak Punjabi, not Urdu. Guest hydeous
And the 2 pakistan things - short story : India was divided up in 1947 into India and Pakistan (east pakistan - now bangladesh and west pakistan - now pakistan) Bangladesh was formed in '71 after a freedom struggle and a war between Pakistan and India. Although Urdu is the official language of Pakistan, Punjabi is widely spoken, which isn't a surprise considering the Punjab region makes up over half the population of Pakistan
Rich
Looks like he is going to the African Cup of Nations (provided he stays injury-free until then): Confirming his side's plans ahead of the African Cup of Nations Finals next month, Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi said on Wednesday that he expected Newcastle's Shola Ameobi to be part of his 23 man squad. Nigerian media reports clam that the Magpies striker and other European-based players have been set a deadline of Friday January 4th to join up with their colleagues in a training camp out in Portugal. Confirmed squads are then required to be submitted by the following Wednesday, ahead of the Finals which get underway on January 19th. GuyP
Newcastle United Training Session not a bad reach, is that a full-stretch nutmeg on Bigi?
Beren
To be fair, the rubbish I read about Shola on here is far more embarrassing. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h196/lqdgrphcs/Freeman_He_Mad.jpg

Beren
Enter performance from him that had everything that is Shola about it - the wonderful, the power, the strength, the falling over and the inexplicably bad.
Yorkie
Shola at his hilarious best today. Cracking goal.
Ronaldo
2 goals in 2012? Great finish, like.
Geordie Ahmed
Brilliant goal, that's his one moment for the season (well Mackem slaying aside) like the Spurs goal last season
thomas
Glad he scored but viewed in the larger context there's no way we should ever be reduced to hoping he'd be the one to unlock the defense of a team in 19th place
Deuce
The man, the myth, the legend. Shola's been rather poor the last few times he's come on, but he was vital today. Made all the right plays.
Ketsbaia
As the match progressed, we obviously needed to throw him on. Had a feeling he'd do something, but so chuffed that he's got us that win.
Klaus
Pisses me off so much how he can play as well as that every now and again, but never on a consistant basis class goal and all round good performance
M1tche
good display and great goal for me, but that dive as awful. Still well play shola lad
Ronaldo
Pisses me off so much how he can play as well as that every now and again, but never on a consistant basis Don't see why it should, like. Up against the tiring legs of the worst part of the worst team in the league - he should look good in that situation.
Guest bimpy474
Good goal, shit dive, shit player. 20 minuter only...ever.
