Zero
To be fair, he deserves to be on the pitch, for that Nation.
chicago_shearer
The progression of his positioning tonight when he came on was great Came on and was (seemed to be) told to play the 1 behind the main striker in a 4-4-1-1. Few minutes go by and more pressure comes from Bosnia. He's moved back to RCM in 4-5-1. Few more minutes pass and he's suddenly a CDM sitting in front of the back 4. Comes to the last 5 minutes, and he's often the furthest Nigeria player back, playing as an emergency 3rd CB. So much adaptability! Looked more like cause he couldnt be arsed to get "out" and up the pitch, but aye. If he got to LB I'm sure Pardew wouldve given him a new contract The Shirlo Xaviobi role in midfield was my favourite bit. He should play there from the start against Argentina. Messi v Shola. loki679
I've just seen Shola Ameobi play in a World Cup. I feel some small part of my life is complete.

Big Geordie
The bitterness of some in this thread. As bad as mackems, IMO.
David28
Really hope Nigeria make it out of the group, I'm loving watching Shola on the big stage. Just imagine him knocking out some big team with a penalty in the last minutes of a game.
mozy
He actually played quite well coming on. Slowed the pace of the game down to his usual level of crawl.
samag
was talking to a guy , who works for the A league here in Australia. Asked if Shola was coming down under to play in the A league. He told me two A league clubs have offered him a contract. Also that Newcastle still want him to stay so he waiting for another offer from Newcastle first. So guess who could be our new signing. Guest Haris Vuckic
I'd be genuinely surprised if we hadn't offered him something.
sempuki
I'd be genuinely surprised if we hadn't offered him something. Everyone is a winner apart from us - Shola gets to stay and Ashley saves his Summer wages and gets a player on a free. People will be majorly pissed off if it happens mind. Guest Haris Vuckic
I think the club is so badly run and out of touch there's going to be a lot of obviously bad decisions that will boil our piss - meanwhile they'll be piling up the TV cash etc

Pixelphish
There's a feeling of inevitability that he'll still be here next season. Desperately hope i'm wrong, like.
Klaus
Until we sign a couple of significant strikers who will be ready to go straight into the squad, the possibility of him re-signing seems more and more likely tbh.
Ste
Can see them offering him a player coach role. I hope he seriously considers the offers from abroad.
Tsunami
:llorente?: Opening day of the season Shola will be in Hart's face sledging him about respective World Cup points totals. It's hilarious that Shola might get to the knock out stages whilst Rooney & Co could be watching him at home wishing they could be him.
