Memphis
I don't think it was so much that Ben Arfa was particularly good (he was merely OK), but his substitution signaled the tactical naivete of Hughton - seeing Ben Arfa's flair as a weakness against Stoke rather than a strength. And that's why I'm still a bit worried about Huhgton on match day, although I love the man the rest of the week.
IceMag
Whats slightly concerning is the lack of obvious chances we are creating. Other than the pen, only Nolans chance at the end was an exampole of us opening them up. This. We kept the ball well in the first half, but didn't really do anything with it. And the second half, well, was just shit.
LucaAltieri
Whats slightly concerning is the lack of obvious chances we are creating. Other than the pen, only Nolans chance at the end was an exampole of us opening them up. Yeah, we're not that good at creating something from nothing. Out best line of attack is from our wing play. Routledge & Ben Arfa/Jonas working with the fullbacks to get in behind. Today we couldn't really get in behind them. Particularly in the second half, every time we went forward they had 6+ players behind the ball. Arsenal struggled against West Brom for the same reasons, unfortunately we don't have a Nasri in the side who can do it all on his own.
cubaricho
Pretty saddened that Hughton took off Tiote and Ben Arfa when clearly Nolan is the one that should come off. I think he'll learn from that mistake though (hopefully).
hakka
Krul- 6 - Was alright, couldn't do much about the goals. Perch- 6- Take the own goal away and he was ok. Williamson- 6- Not at this best. Coloccini- 7- Played well. Enrique- 8 - Good attacking and defending, our best player. Routledge- 5- Never knew what to do with the ball today, crosses were not the best but better than others. Barton- 6- He was great at passing a long the deck, but awful when lofting them or crossing. Tiote- 7- Did nothing wrong and was protecting our back four and keeping possesion, why the hell was this man taken off? This sub probably lost us the match. Ben Arfa- 6 - Was pretty good, perhaps should have shot from range at times. Should never have been subbed. Nolan- 4- Very poor. Invisible most of the game and missed a great chance. Carroll- 5 - Looked poor today. He did have one shot of note but was dropping deep too much and didn't get on the end of any crosses really. Should be stronger and doing more for us. Jonas- 7- Played ok, drove us on. He and Ben Arfa should be playing together, Nolan should be dropped. Ameobi- 5 - Didn't do anything or really have much chance to have impact. Hughton- 4 - He lost us the game with the subs he made. Clearly is in love with Kevin Nolan as he can't drop him for a proper striker when we need it. Other than the pen, only Nolans chance at the end was an exampole of us opening them up. We were playing Stoke, though. The PL champions of playing ten men behind the ball. Houghton was tactically outwitted today And what master plan did Pulis come up with other than the usual bullshit? Fucking spoilers that's all Stoke are, and their fans need culling. Interpolic
It worries me a lot that we've got so many 'winnable' home games before Christmas and we don't seem to have the first clue how to approach them yet.

Guest Stephen927
Going to be a lot more of those games before the season is out. Once the away points dry up home form will be paramount. When you look at Birmingham's home form since promotion that is the kind of example we should follow. St Andrews is a tough place to go, St James' should be moreso really. thomas
You want him dead for an own goal in a sports game? Tad harsh. Would like to see him hit by a small car maybe, but death is a little much.

BazCorps
Really don't understand why Tiote was brought off today, him and Barton bossed the midfield. Really feel for Perch too as he was doing alright until their first goal then he just fell to pieces. Let's hope for an upset against Man City to get us back on track. Ronaldo
We need a keeper asap, like. Krul isn't exactly to blame, but balls in the 6 yard box are there to be collected. He doesn't know when to come off his line and it cost us. He's just too raw.
Thomson Mouse
Some of the fans on here are f***ing morons like. Yep. Some people want to remember that we've just come back up with a few of the players who took us down. We are limited in what we can do, Blackpool was bad and yes Hughton is still learning, but to slate most of our players is waaaayyy over the top. The fact is, is that Stoke finished in a decent position last season, the were well organised and in several areas were better than us. The scary thing was how easily the game was turned, teams will line up and defend like that against us at home and let's face facts, against some, we'll struggle to break them down. What we need to do is to forget about the Carling cup and the FA cup and just keep our minds on the league - 33 points left to go as far as I'm concerned, that's all I want from this season. Anyone who wants 'entertainment', go and watch a movie. We need to keep getting behind them, anyone who was booing today at the ground needs to keep a fucking lid on it, what did they expect, Europe?
