Barton has been dreadful today.

What a load of s***.

Have a look at every set-piece he's done today.

His passing has been top class and he's been the one always trying to make things happen.

To say he's been s*** due to set pieces is just f***ing stupid.

Agreed.. That said, I wouldn't let him near any of our set pieces ever. He's shit at them..

If we're going based on form, Carroll, Nolan, Barton and Routledge should not start our next game

Both done more than Ben Arfa today.

"Form" isn't just one game, though.

What has Routledge done like? Every cross has been wank, other than that and one OK run to the half-way line, he's been fairly anonymous.

Have a look at his midfield performance that he's done (sic), instead. He was a million miles from our worst player.

Come back when you can speak English.

Again far too many people thinking Barton is a saint of a footballer on here.

Good first half, awful second half to sum it up.

We get and don't concede a penalty.

Perch has an ok game.

Hughton. Today was his worst match in charge, made stupid decisions, I'm very disappointed.

Perch is awful and shows his abilities by putting that in the net.

They're just better organized. They know what they do best and every part of their gameplan is designed to maximize their relative advantage.

Ultimately we need to establish an overall shape that goes beyond "have all the lads do what they do best." In portions we're playing short, passing football, then that inexplicably segues into a long ball up to Carroll. Ben Arfa is doing whatever he does alone, ditto Tiote. It's like two different groups of five-a-side playing together. The whole operation just seems desperately unfocused.

We had the far superior players but we didn't have a system that exploits their strengths. It's time to go find one now.

we didnt deserve to win, lucky to have had the penalty in the first place.

we were out muscled, out run the whole of the second half.

cuddnt keep possession and didnt deal with their direct play.

hate teams like stoke but no complaints about the lost.  they did what they had to do to win.
