Did a lot for us, needed better backing from the board but ultimately paid the price for losing easy games and not motivating the team for such games.

He is a manager learning, could possibly be a decent manager down the road.

Still though one of the most likeable managers we've had in my lifetime, professional and dignified.

He did more than possible with this bunch of players. None of them are really of a high level bar possibly Enrique, Carroll and Ben Arfa.

Ricidulous.

All the best to Chris and thanks for bringing us back to the Premiership where we belong.

Top, top bloke.  Didn't learn a few lessons, but the majority of his time here he was spot on like dropping Nicky Butt, persisting with Andy Carroll, signing Tiote, Routledge and lets not forget bringing Ben Arfa here.

Thanks Chris, I had my doubts about your ability but in the end you found a formation that worked for us, you found some decent players for us, and you have done a great job in the circumstances.

Best wishes, unless you go onto manage Sunderland, Boro, Spurs or Liverpool.

He did very well for us. We played better football, our players improved under him, we got promoted and look like a decent Premiership team. His signings were good and positive, and he just said the smart things, the things that the best managers say. He could have seriously taken us forward but Ashley the fat fuck has ruined it.

Great bloke, got on with the job, never moaned about not having money, never blamed the ref, got the best out of group of players that weren't the best.  Wasn't always the best tactician, but he really pulled us out of the shit and the way he's been treated is nothing short of a disgrace.

good things he did -

kept his dignity whilst being fucked around.

helped transform carroll into the player he is now.

injected some pace and energy into our midfield with Tiote and Ben Arfa.

Dropped Smith. Got rid of Butt.

Signed Williamson and Routledge exactly when they were needed.

Steadied the ship at the start of last season when we were in crisis.

Led us to the league championship.

Led us to some great against the odds victories this season.

Beat the Mackems 5-1.

of course it wasn't all positive -there's still Perch and Best, and bad results against winnable opposition earlier this season. but he leaves us in a far healthier position than when he took over.

Ashley doesn't deserve someone with such class. won't be surprised if Pardew - the slimy cheat - is exactly Ashley's kind of guy.

Extraordinarily classy guy and a credit to the profession.

I enjoyed having him in charge of the club; he must have been going through hell behind the scenes dealing with the chuckleheads that run our club, and yet he stayed completely above the fray.  His class probably cost him in the end.

Wish him nothing but the best.
