This has to go down as one of the most baffling decisions in the history of the premier league?

Other than the Man Utd board allowing the Glazers to buy the club with money borrowed against its value, I struggle to think of any boardroom action that has made as little sense as this one.

The Souness appointment was a total joke but at least the guy had won something meaningful in his managerial career.  That obviously doesn't justify if because anyone with half a brain could see it was a massive error, but this is a whole new level of retarded.

Mike Ashley, you may think you are a football expert but in actually fact you are a clueless fuckwit! You got lucky once with Hughton but it's not going to happen this time. You have royally dry bummed this football club and made yourself a national laughing stock. A big round of applause for you, you absolute mong!

But what if Pardew does well?

It still won't make any sense because Hughton was already doing well, was loved by the fans, respected by the players and the media and had brought stability to the club.

Even if Pardew does brilliantly, it will still be under a cloud of hatred and disharmony that was completely unnecessary and avoidable.

The alienation of the fans and the negativity created by the board is something that will not go away regardless of how successful Pardew is.

"Pardew stated that retaining top flight status this season and then mounting a challenge for a top ten finish in the next campaign were his aims - surely that should now see him sacked' date=' given that they echo Hughton's ambitions?"[/quote']

Sums it up for me; the whole situation.

Pardew can't do well, it's as simple as that. He has to play by Ashley's rules in order to keep his job. Any manager who plays by those rules undermines himself and will ultimately fail, unless you believe Ashley is a football genius.

Aye, almost as insane as his comments re: Hughton. Something along the lines of:

"Chris has done a great job so far this season to get the club where it is and it's my job to take it forward"

If it was that great, why was he sacked because of it?!

Cos' Ashley is a massive racist. I thought we'd established that?

I have a feeling a big part of this has to do with changes to the playing squad, which Hughton wasn't ready to accept. Similar to when Keegan quit, I think they still want to get rid of Barton and Alan Smith in particular, due to their high wages and Barton's behaviour which is still costing us. Steven Taylor will also be moved on as he is not signing for the current money they are offering. The success of Williamson and Tiote who were very cheap and on low wages are the ideal, hence the new 5 year deal for Williamson. I'm sure we'll see more Tiote type signings in January and onwards. Players signed from the smaller leagues in Europe to replace our higher earners.

Pards Urges Fans To Channel Frustration

New Magpies boss Alan Pardew is hoping the St. James' Park faithful will channel any frustrations they have over the departure of Chris Hughton into support for the team when they take on Liverpool on Saturday.

Many supporters were disappointed to see popular Hughton leave the club, and Pardew - appointed the club's manager on Thursday - accepts that brings pressure going into his first game.

Am I missing something here? This makes no sense whatsoever.

This article pretty much sums up how hideous our owner and Chairmen are in that they don't give a fuck about their customers. No other business could survive if they treated their core customers like shit. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/8730419.Absences_speak_louder_than_words_at_St_James_/

Thing is, no other business has customers that would accept it. People don't keep getting high interest mortgages from Abbey National just because they were brought up supporting them and hope to see them one day announce the biggest banking profits in Europe. They go to another bank that offers them something better.

We're football supporters, we can't exactly just go elsewhere, not unless you're that retard Lee Stewart - we are the club. Supporting something totally unrelated to us isn't an option. So the people running the business can do it as badly as they like and believe they can get away with it.

But as I've been saying all night, if we know what's good for our club, we can stop helping people who are hurting it, running it badly and giving us 'customers' bad service. Stick together, prove they need us for 12 months more we need them and we can make them go away and the business will eventually improve.

Newcastle stars in revolt

Published 23:01 09/12/10 By Simon Bird - Exclusive

Alan Pardew will have to see off a dressing room revolt when he takes his first training session as Newcastle manager.

Pardew has begged Newcastle's furious players not to "resent" him after the stars held a fiery showdown with MD Derek Llambias on Thursday morning.

In a nothing-off-limits, clear-the-air meeting, Llambias faced the wrath of senior stars who quizzed him on why Chris Hughton was fired and expressed bewilderment that he was replaced by a manager of Pardew's standing.

That confrontation turned into an open shouting match, which saw Llambias accused of appointing a 'casino crony' who will simply be a 'yes man'.

The row triggered a major damage limitation exercise by Pardew, who immediately held talks with skipper Kevin Nolan, and said: "It is obvious the players and the fans had a great amount of respect for Chris Hughton, and the fact he has gone has caused a stir.

"People are upset about it and the problem I've got initially is with the players and making sure I get my message across with clarity and quickly.

"I hope they don't carry any resentment towards me. I've contacted Kevin Nolan, and I will be speaking to all the players tomorrow [Friday]. It's been quite difficult.

"I can't think of a player in the group that I've managed before, so I'm going to be something of a mystery to them. I have to make sure the players understand I'm a fair manager.

"It's a tough challenge. I need to make sure there isn't a massive impact on the team. Obviously this week there has been an impact on them, and that is not good for any group of players. It's important I bring some stability back to the dressing room and calm their fears."

Pardew will hold a team meeting and training session on Friday morning and is also braced for fan protests against the turmoil caused this week before Saturday's home clash with Liverpool.

He added: "It is not something I want and I certainly hope it doesn't last too long. But if there is a protest for Chris in terms of a nice protest and fans wanting to show him their support then I don't have a problem with that. That is their right.

"But I hope that anything like that is over with quickly and they start supporting their team. I hope the protest is channeled into supporting the team. It is not about me after all, it is about the club. And we are going to need a lot of help to get past Liverpool who have just hit a bit for form."

Pardew signed a five-and-a-half year deal worth £450,000 a year, making him one of the lowest paid bosses in the top flight. However, there are big bonuses on offer for hitting targets including staying up and a wins target that, if passed, could earn him £1.5m.

MirrorSport can reveal that sacked boss Hughton picked up a pay-off of just £125,000 from Newcastle - half his annual salary and the equivalent of around two weeks' wages for the top earning players.

Cool.

Their cowardice is one of the many issues I have with Ashley and Llambias.  Their refusal to put their name to any statement or front up to the media is pathetic as is the way they leak stories to their mates in the press when they want to tarnish a manager (Keegan / Hughton / Shearer) or player (Milner / Taylor) and at the same time forbidding the other party to put their side out.  I wonder how much

Campbell and Enrique have been fined this week as I am sure they will have been.
