Mike
Good move. We've got too many players as it is.
Unbelievable
I just can't get my head around this deal at all. We better have a properly good winger lined up FFS

Mike
I thought there was a block on outgoing players until we got ones in. They brought that guy in on trial, tbf. I could see how that frees up room for a season long loan.
TBG
I just can't get my head around this deal at all. We better have a properly good winger lined up FFS They'll be hoping he has a good enough season at Cardiff that they end up wanting to buy him. No doubt paying more than what they would've got in compensation.
Nobody
I just can't get my head around this deal at all. We better have a properly good winger lined up FFS It's not like we need a particularly good winger to replace the shite that we've got, with or without Sammy. I'm just glad the regime and coaches don't see him as a first team player.
B-more Mag
All part of the tactic of conceding the touch lines in McClaren's groundbreaking new 1-2-2-2-2-1 formation.

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Don't particularly rate him but can't fathom this at all. We've got a threadbare squad, we don't seem to be in any hurry to invest and we're losing the likes of Ryan Taylor, Jonas and now Sammy. At the end of the day, although we should be aiming much, much higher, these are all players who could come in for a game here and there. Regardless of their quality (or lack of) we'll be left throwing kids in left, right and centre at this rate simply because we have no form of backup at all. Astroblack
Very strange. He got two goals and two assits last year in a team that didn't score or create much. Either they're banking it all on Rolando or we've got another winger lined up. Can't see the latter tbh.

thenige
Seems to make sense to me. He's got a year at Cardiff to make the grade and come back to prove it. 2-years on a relatively small salary seems fine. This is of course assuming we're looking at other players as our current wide options are Gouffran, Aarons, Cabella, Obertan and I guess Perez. Two of those I'd ideally never seen in a Newcastle shirt again. 5 players for two positions isn't batshit crazy but they wouldn't have let him leave on loan without at least some kind of plan. Right? RIGHT?
Dave
Glad to see us keeping up our audacious attempt to get the entire pre-season squad on board a Cessna.

Cronky
The Ameobis seem to be a close-knit family, and so both Sammy and Shola have shown an attachment to the city, if not the club. Sammy isn't being well treated here, but he seems prepared to take it, in the hope of proving himself over the next two seasons. The club seems generally in two minds about the player. He's shown enough ability to make them reluctant to let him go, but they don't want to commit either. They seem to be getting away with that indecision, though I wonder whether Sammy would be better off with a stronger vote of confidence. I suspect the club will want to give Aarons a chance, and this gives them a bit more room to do that.

pbxtn
I want to succeed and go back to Newcastle at the end of this season having scored 20 goals. Good luck with that Sammy

Flip
The new Darren Ambrose. Ambrose looked promising for us and could actually hit a shot. Sammy looks talented for street football, just don't think he'll ever make it in the PL.
abertoon
Watched him play for Cardiff on Tuesday. Not much to write home about, had one long range shot saved, made a couple of decent runs. One or two times he favored a back heel over a simple pass. Strolled Ameobi pace for the rest. Will probably get to another game at some point, hopefully better opposition than Wimbledon to see how he fairs.
KaKa
They have been going on about how he needs to add strength. Why is the brother so damned skinny. I mean he's no longer a teenager. The man is now 23. Still so rail thin, especially his lower body, which is not good at all for any kind of sport really.
Dr.Spaceman
Long distance running, maybe. Which is ironic, as he looks knackered after 10 mins on a football pitch.
