Guest
Wouldn't be surprised now if the fee for N'Zogbia's between the £12-15m mark for Villa.

Guest
An average centre-back. Seriously though I wouldn't be shocked to see them pay something like £15m for someone like Shawcross though.

Nobody
Refreshing to see a team properly going for it like even it does seem to be being done in a slapdash way. Fair play to the dippers. But when City does it, it's disgusting?

More to follow... #thfc 34 minutes ago See Jose Enrique, that's how you do it. And when Carroll did it, some accuse the club of putting a gun to his head. Players putting in a transfer request is a norm these days, people just don't want to believe it when it happens to us

But when City does it, it's disgusting? Well quite. What's refreshing about a team spunking great wodges of cash they've essentially won in a lottery, not earned? That's been the case every year since Abramovich.

Just because they were good 25 years ago doesn't mean what they're doing is any different to Chelsea & City.
toontownman
Were on the verge of going under. Daglish is assembling quite the squad of potentially decent home grown players. Thing is he has spent 80m too much on what could turn out to be a huge pile of wank.

Just because they were good 25 years ago doesn't mean what they're doing is any different to Chelsea & City. They were skint because the former owners used the clubs profits to pay the interest on their loan, which was borrowed to buy the club. Those interest payments aren't there anymore. It's different to City and Chelsea in as much as our new sponsorship deals are more lucrative than both of those clubs, and with the debt interest payments being eliminated Liverpool are in a near healthy position. Given the new financial rules Liverpool will be able to hold it's own with both Chelsea and City a few years down the line. Arsenal and Man United, because of their bigger stadiums, will take more matchday revenue than us until we either move or refurbish Anfield. Once that's done only Man United will take more football related revenue over a season. If we were only good 25 years ago where does that put clubs like yourselves? Guest
Nowhere near Liverpool in the same way you're no way near Chelsea and City. You still got lucky with a takeover though. I dare say if someone wanted to give Ashley his money back then we could also spunk £80m on players.
