Demba Ba (now retired)

I'm clinging on to the hope that Ashley's greed will work in our favour this time. If he does nothing then he'll miss out on a cracking player for a pittance. Offer him a new deal, bin the clause and keep him. When the offers come in he can be in a position of strength to negotiate the best deal possible.

Then again the best deal possible for us is a moot point. Very little, if any, of the cash will go back into buying a replacement. Much rather just keep the player but can't see him being in black and white for much longer.

Depends on how bad his knee actually is I suspect, if it's as bad as reported and he gets fucked on a 5yr high wage deal Ashley and Dekka will tighten up even more.

We should try and get Spurs fax number and bombard the bastards with faxes on the last day of the transfer window so they can't register players.  Having said that, Spurs don't have a transfer window, they can sign players after it's shut.

That's the risk that he would be taking obviously.

It's also a risk for any buying team too though so if Ba's expecting a massive contract from some fucker in the summer then he might need to think again. No way will he get £80k a week on a 4 year deal or anything like it.

Never know how he'll play in the 2nd half of the season too, will be a massive ask to continue this form until May. Another player could hit a purple patch during that time and he'll be the focus of attention instead. Bit premature all this talk of him definitely being off.

Can't see Ba wanting to bin the clause altogether or it wouldn't have been there in the first place. I can't see him wanting the clause to be so high that it would repel bids either... If (big "if") a deal's renegotiated I'd expect it to be on the same contract length, with increased wages and perhaps a £15m release clause...

Newcastle United FC would like to submit a £2.99 offer paid in 24 month installments for the permanent transfer of Luka Modric from Tottingham Botspurs.

Spurs fax no is 0208 506 9048, that's from this seasons Premier League Handbook.

It begins.

On the last day of the first month of 2012, a force will strike.

Spurs' communications systems will never be the same again.

Guest Haris Vuckic

A friend of a cousin from Northampton went on a Highbury tour a few years back and managed to remember David Deans number from a board he spied on the tour.

The first time they rang it they said they were Northampton Town trying to bring Ray Parlour to the ''coblers'' and they got his secretary telling them he wasn't in, they got his mobile number and rang him whenever he appeared on Sky Sports to see him answer.

True story.
